Hm. I've tried it with IE5 and I seem to recall that it worked ok. It's possible that the cookie value is of a form that IE5 doesn't like. Try tweaking the cookie name generation code. RESPONSE.redirect

Hello! Is it a bug or I am doing something wrong? I am trying to create DTML Document test-cookie1: <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setCookie('jwt_test', 'JWT Test')"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('test-cookie2'))"> <dtml-var standard_html_header> <h2><dtml-var title_or_id></h2> <p> Please wait... </p> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> and when I press "Change" Zope instead of saveing the Method CALLS it! Oops!!! I think Zope is trying to compile the method and while compiling really does the redirect. I removed call to RESPONSE.redirect, and was able to save the method, but how I put the redirect back? Zope version: Zope 2.1.3 (source release, python 1.5.2, linux2) Python version: 1.5.2 (#1, Jan 17 2000, 18:02:04) [GCC 2.7.2.3] Running under Apache in PCGI mode (not ZServer), via mod_pcgi2, but switching to Zope.cgi didn't help, so it is a problem with Zope (or me :) Oleg. ---- Oleg Broytmann Foundation for Effective Policies phd(a)phd.russ.ru Programmers don't die, they just GOSUB without RETURN.

Hello Eron, The Zope Guides online are up to date with the current Zope version 2.1. http://www.zope.org/Documentation We are creating a process which will allow the Zope community to contribute to our core documents using several methods. We currently use Adobe Framemaker for official documents and that doesn't allow for community contributions. Amos, Rob and I are exploring XML DocBook for a standard platform for the guides. When the process is formalized, we will have more "open" documentation. The ZDP continue to provide steam with their efforts and make weekly announcements concerning their accomplishments. When WinZip opens the file it comes up with a dialog something like: This file contains a compressed archive. Do you want to open it in a temporary directory? Say yes. Then you'll have the winzip screen that should show a bunch of files in it. Press Extract. When it asks you where you want to extract to, choose the Zope top-level folder by browsing through the dir trees. Make sure the option to "expand with folder names" (or something like that) is checked before you hit OK. Hit OK. It will write all the files out. You should end up with a directory in your lib\python\Products folder that is named something like "ZODBCDA" which contains files that belong to the ZODBC adapter (such as __init__.py and others). When you restart Zope, the database adapter should show up in the list of products. The main gist here is that the gz file you download contains only one file, which is a "tar" archive. Tar is a UNIX format that stands for tape archive. It's an old, old format that has a long legacy. But you don't need to know much about it. All you really need to know is that it contains files and directories that need to be written out to disk. The tar archive isn't compressed. Gzip does this for us. I imagine we don't use the ZIP file format because tar and gzip are so familiar to us, and we use these formats for all our other distributions. I suggest reading the WinZip help stuff for more info. dtml-with & misbehaving strings

Hi everyone, I have a folder with a property. In a method within this folder I try the following: <dtml-with "_[myproperty]"> grab some stuff </dtml-with> where myproperty is a string equal to Games.Whatup Both 'Games' and 'Whatup' are objects. So I am trying to drill down my directory and stack the namespace via the with tag, but I get the following message: Error Type: KeyError Error Value: Games.Whatup I want it to to do the following (which works fine): <dtml-with "Games.Whatup"> grab some stuff </dtml-with> Am i missing something here? The zope way to do it

I started playing with external methods, because I have to display quite complex data (stored in dictionaries of lists of dictionaries) that differs on a per directory basis. In plain python I'd put all the functions I need in a file like this one, called test_aux.py -------------------------------------------- def display(text): result='' for word in text: result= result + word + ' ' return result -------------------------------------------- then I'd create another file that imports display from test_aux.py and uses it, say test.py: -------------------------------------------- from test_aux import display print display(['This','is','a','very','simple','example.']) -------------------------------------------- and the run it with 'python test.py' What's the python way to do this? Hello all, First off my head cannot take anymore punishment from being beaten against a wall. I found a similar answer to this issue in an email from last year sometime but since it still doesn't seem to work, I thought I would subscribe to the list and see if I could get help and maybe help others as I learn. >From what I've seen in the month that i've been using Zope, the current documentation and level of support is wonderful. I have a product I've created that I will be using to allow site managers to easily create templates for a web site by simply giving the name of the template and uploading the 4 images that build the templates. I followed the walkthrough of creating a product in the from the Content Guide online. It was what actually prompted me to move from several scripts to creating products and making things a ton easier to manage.
