Adding an image to a zclass with the add form
by Willie Peloquin 14 Dec '99

14 Dec '99

Hi, I have a zclass which contains an image. I would like to call up the add image screen immediately after the add form is filled out. I tried to add <dtml-with REQUEST> <dtml-with form> <dtml-call "manage_addImage()"> </dtml-with> </dtml-with> but I do not have the local image name. I want to use the standard add image screen. Zope (connection online)
by jpglutting＠cochrane.es 14 Dec '99

14 Dec '99

Hi Barbara, Yes, that online thing is a pain. It did not used to do that (I am sure some of the real smart Zope folks can tell you why...). Anyway, once you get Zope going on a Win PC, you can disconnect the Internet connection and keep using it as "localhost". Cheers, JP Message: 25 Date: Fri, 10 Dec 1999 20:58:14 -0600 To: zope(a)zope.org From: Barbara Pfieffer <bjp(a)bejay.com> Subject: [Zope] Newbie confusion I just downloaded Zope and I'm really excited about what I want to do with it. Here's the problem, when I start Zope, it keeps forcing me to connect to the Net. (I'm running Win98, BTW). Is there any way to run ZServer without being connected to the net? And how easy is it to transfer Zope files created on a Windows machine to a Solaris website? Or am I stuck hanging online all the time I'm working with Zope? Thanks in advance! by ozric 14 Dec '99

I have some images on a file system that are updated daily. I need to make it easy for a folder manager to import them in Zope. I have tried the fsimport.py external method but I cant seem to get it to work. here is the trace back Traceback (innermost last): File /home/httpd/Zope-2.1.0-src/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 214, in publish_module File /home/httpd/Zope-2.1.0-src/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 179, in publish File /home/httpd/Zope-2.1.0-src/lib/python/Zope/__init__.py, line 202, in zpublisher_exception_hook File /home/httpd/Zope-2.1.0-src/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 165, in publish File /home/httpd/Zope-2.1.0-src/lib/python/ZPublisher/mapply.py, line 160, in mapply (Object: manage_addExternalMethod) File /home/httpd/Zope-2.1.0-src/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 102, in call_object (Object: manage_addExternalMethod) File /home/httpd/Zope-2.1.0-src/lib/python/Products/ExternalMethod/ExternalMethod.py, line 125, in manage_addExternalMethod File /home/httpd/Zope-2.1.0-src/lib/python/Products/ExternalMethod/ExternalMethod.py, line 167, in __init__ (Object: File_system_import) File /home/httpd/Zope-2.1.0-src/lib/python/Products/ExternalMethod/ExternalMethod.py, line 186, in manage_edit (Object: File_system_import) File /home/httpd/Zope-2.1.0-src/lib/python/Products/ExternalMethod/ExternalMethod.py, line 195, in getFunction (Object: File_system_import) File /home/httpd/Zope-2.1.0-src/lib/python/App/Extensions.py, line 205, in getObject (Info: ('/home/httpd/Zope-2.1.0-src/Extensions/fsimport.py', 'fsimport')) SyntaxError: (see above) What am I doing wrong? Getting id of sequence-item
by Robert W. Erb 13 Dec '99

13 Dec '99

Hi. Here's some code to create a list of hyperlinks, one for each item in a folder. It works ok. <dtml-var standard_html_header> <UL> <dtml-in "getParentNode().objectItems()"> <LI> <A HREF="<dtml-var id>"> <dtml-var title_or_id spacify capitalize> </A> </LI> </dtml-in> </UL> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> The problem is I don't really want to list all the items in a folder. I want to screen index_html and acl_users, in particular. How can I do this? I can't seem to get any of these to work: <dtml-if "id != index_html"> . . <dtml-if "_['sequence-item'] != index_html"> ... . . <dtml-if "_['sequence-item'].id != index_html"> ... . . The punctuation is start to blur. Thanks in advance for any help. -- . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Bob Erb . . I don't want to die today!

Structured Text: How to end lists??
by Jochen Haeberle 13 Dec '99

13 Dec '99

Hi, I have a problem with structured text. I am doing a list with several paragraphs starting with "*", after which another paragraph follows, in this case a named link starting with ".. [F1]" When Zope renders the page, it does not correctly close the list, it includes the following paragraph in the <li>-tag, but closes the list before the standard_footer_html Is there a way to tell Zope to close a list?? I tried indenting the list a level more than the surrounding text but that did not help. The way Zope deals with lists in structured text is a bit strange... every list-entry becomes enclosed by <p></p>'s, that needs much room to render... I guess there should be a way to format this.
