hi again i have successfully installed zope with fastcgi. how can i make the site accessable from http://www.mysite.com/ instead of http://www.mysite.com/zope this rewrite in apache wont work, because i think it rewrites the url and showeither error 404 if the file zope is not there, or shows the doc "zope" itself. FastCgiExternalServer /home/httpd/html/zope -host localhost:8999 -pass-header Authorization RewriteRule ^/(.*) /home/httpd/html/zope$1 [l] <Location /zope> Options ExecCGI SetHandler fastcgi-script </location> furthermore, accessing the site with http://www.mysite.com/x/ results in broken images and broken links since the base url changes, i think. e.g this is ok if i access thru http://www.mysite.com/zope/ index_html <dtml-var standard_html_header> <body>my <dtml-var title> <dtml-var "images.myimage.absolute_url()"> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> this is not, results in broken links, images. the folders images is there. <dtml-var standard_html_header> <body>my <dtml-var title> <img src="/images/<dtml-var myimage>"> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> the solution i see is hardcoding the extra reference, but i have to do all this for my pages and some products downloaded from zope.org. am i missing something? enlighten me oo gurus.. thks ------------------------------------------------------ http://www.kedai.com.my/kk Am I Evil?

Well, I'm not suprised to find out that it was something I was doing wrong. However, the symptons still sound fairly similar and I wouldn't be suprised it someone his site is doing something similar. Also, I tried : x = Zope.app() x.close() And it complains that x has no attribute close. any ideas? Reverse sort w/ dtml-in

I'm trying to implement some database interaction in Zope. I'm using ZSQL and <dtml-in> tags to display the data on the web page. The data has a date in it, and I would like to sort so that most recent is first. However, I see no mention of a "reverse" option with the sorting capability of the <dtml-in> tag. Is there a way to script the reverse sorting in DTML, or do I have to do all my sorting inside the database query (ZSQL method)? I have a form that gathers a information in a dtml document. The form action is a dtml method which shows this information for the user to verify in a new form. The problem is that somewhere along the way, letter is no longer a list. I've tried making NAME="letter:list" in the first document, but that doesn't help. I think the solution is in the hidden input in the first method. When i make letter = <dtml-var letter> it's just a string and not a list. How do I make it a list? On a related note, if I only select one of the checkboxes, it doesn't get passed as a list (single element), but just as a bare string when it gets to the sql method. Then dtml-in doesn't work on the variable. How do I test to see if the variable is a list, or cast it to one in dtml-in? Also, is there a better way of propagating the namespace? This is just an oversimplified version of what I'm actually trying to do. I would rather not have to make a 'hidden' line for every variable I want to pass. I hope a comprehensive, up to date, DTML reference appears soon. Hello guys, I have trouble to compile the ZMySQLDA. Is there anything that I dont know ? When I execute the [make -f Makefile.pre.in boot], it issue to me: [...make[1]: *** No rule to make target /usr/lib/python1.5/config/Makefile, needed by sedscript. Stop. ...] I dont found the directory [/usr/lib/python/config] in any python version! Trapping external database errors

Hi, I have a Zope site connected to a SQL-server 7 database. It's nescesary to update, add information through the Zope site. Is there a elegant way to trap errors generated by the external database server. Now, when an user enters a invalid date for example, Zope simply returns a standard error page, with some information generated (i guess) from the ODBC adapter. I know the right thing to do is validating the fields before submitting the form (I have a question on this matter wich I posted earlier). But that said: it must be possible evaluate/trap the outcome of a external database transaction in an elegant way. thanks Henny van der Linde
