Hi all, I'm trying to use Ape (cvs version) with Zope 2.7 (cvs version) and postgresql 7.4 on Debian Sarge pure64 in an AMD 64 box. Trying to mount the ZODB mount point from ZMI I always obtain: *Error Type: OverflowError* *Error Value: requested number of bytes is more than a Python string can hold Anybody knows if I can workarround about this ? Works for the rest of the world ? Thanks in advance Santi Camps *

Hi Tres. I duplicated your actions on FC3. Just redownloaded to FC3, gunzipped and tar -xvf'd and built with no problems at all. The exact same file, unbundled using WinZip 8 or TurboZip 5.1 on W2K Server or XP Pro seems to give a very different result, which seems to be what Paul is seeing. I have attached a zip of the results for analysis. A lot is missing when unbundled in this way-- not sure why. I've never seen problems opening a gz/tar file with either of these software before. cygwin could gunzip the file, but not untar it. The answer seems to be use native gunzip and tar to open this. Paul-- can I assume that you tried to unbundle on Windows-- if not what OS and distribution? Sending mail with attachments via Python

I'm currently trying to replace a bit of DTML with a Python script. Here's what I currently have: <dtml-sendmail mailhost="outboundserver"> To: <dtml-var recipientemail> From: <dtml-var senderemail> Subject: <dtml-var subject> <dtml-mime type="text/plain" encode="7bit"> Attention <dtml-var recipientname>: This file was sent to you from the Foo Company web site. The sender included this message: <dtml-var emailbody> <dtml-boundary type="application/octet-stream" disposition="attachment" encode="base64" filename_expr="filename"><dtml-var expr="publicstore.download(filename=filename,password=password,skipctypeheader=1)"></dtml-mime> </dtml-sendmail> Basically, it fetches a file from a public download directory, encodes it as a MIME attachment, and sends the works to the specified recipient. Now, the documentation on sending a normal text email is easy enough to find, but from Googling around for more advanced docs it seems like I'm the only person to ever want to do this. ZODB.POSException.ReadConflictError

I'm getting a ZODB.POSException.ReadConflictError on my Plone 2.0.5 site (Zope 2.7.3, Python 2.3.4 on Mac OS X Server 10.3.9). It happens most frequently when members try to register on my site (about 10% of the time), but occasionally happens when other pages are accessed (no pattern). Alternatively, a blank page is returned. No messages appear in the Zope or Plone error log. I've reproduced the error messages below, all of which resulted from a member registration. I received 7 error reports were from the past two days, with two types of errors. Of the two types of errors, the "oid 0x07e8, class BTrees.IOBTree.IOBucket" error was seen 5 times and the "oid 0x08, class Products.Transience.Transience.Length2" error was seen twice. Is there something wrong with my installation or is there something wrong with my data.fs file? How do I correct either? Problem with AdManager

Hi Setup is: Zope 2.7.5, Python 2.3.5 (UNIX/gcc 2.95) (No ZEO, no CMF, no Plone!) We are trying to use the AdManager ZClass, a great product doing exactly what we needed. Testing this on the developer's machine, we had no problems. But having now done a "small scale" stress testing (requesting about 20 pages per second) on the server, some pages suddenly throw errors of the following kind (see traceback below). The errors are not all 100% like this one, but similar enough, I guess. The errors occur on a ratio of about 1:4 (so 4 successful pages, then one error). [I know this is not really scientific or would stand in a statistical analysis, but just to give you an idea.] We could also not find any connection between the errors and any of the 5 banners we're using for testing. TextIndexNG V 3 is a complete new implementation based on Zope 3 technologies and can be used both in Zope 2.8 or 2.7 (with Five) or in Zope 3. What's new? - multi-field indexing and query support - multi-lingual support - configurable converters (through ZCML) - new indexing API (allowing you to hook your custom content types with TextIndexNG through Zope 3 adapters).
