Hi there - I was wondering if anyone knows what the warning: ZServer unhandled connect event is coming from? (seems to do this on Win32 whenever Zope starts up) Just out of curiosity :-) --Brian

New Navigator Product

Hello! The Navigator Product is a graphical management device for creating navigation bars. It is quite flexible, and works quite a bit like a Folder object, containing other folder like objects and link like objects. The Navigator makes creation and management of navigation bars fairly easy, even for unexperienced users. The Navigator has (IMHO) a number of nice features: o Possibility to check wether a link exists, and skip broken links o Automatic expiration of links o Automatic generation of 'New' tags o Possibility to make link visible in the future o Rendering of links is determined by acquired DTMLMethods o Possibility to define icons for links o A number of helper functions for use in DTML (e.g. checks if a link is inside, or equals, a path in a REQUEST) o ...and more The Navigator Product can be downloaded from http://www.zope.org:18200/Members/jonas/Navigator The code seems to work pretty well at this stage, but beware, it is still in development stage. acl_users dtml access help please...

I'm working on a cut-down replacement for control of users in an acl_users directory from a dtml document, for example, I can: <dtml-if names> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('names',names)"> <dtml-call "manage_users('Delete',REQUEST)"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect(URL0)"> </dtml-if> to remove users from a list of users selected for removal, it works well, HOWEVER.. I also need to change the roles of users between a defined set I have in select lists on the form, I cannot work out how to do this, I either need to use manage_users('Change',...), for which I have to know their previous password, or I need to give them a new password, I cannot work out how to address the password a user already has, which is in the __ variable (to make it hard to get at, I'm guessing). DCOracle on win32?

Hi, I have built the DCOracle on a Windows NT box and I can use it from python(I have tested connect, select, update). But it doesn't work with Zope 2. What you could do is this:  ... generated conditions ...   ... Another condition ...    ... Another condition ...   Now, if your LogOp equals 'AND', then the 'and' block will actually be used, because it contains output, but the 'or' block will not be used, because it remains empty. And, of course, when LogOp equals 'OR', it will be the other way around. How to test a file ?

Hi I have a dtml-in loop which cycle through documents of a directory. How can I test if the current item in the loop is the document wich is displayed at the moment ? It's for sidebar menu purpose. I'd like to make the current document bold or something else... I've heard that such a menu could be made with a ZCatalog component. Is that true ? One of the requirements for this is that the users be able to choose between AND and OR operators for each condition. Something like (silly example...): Country = Japan and Area = Tokyo or Area = Kyushu These conditions are converted to a where statement using DTML. The problem is that Zope (still 1.10.3 :^( complains about unexpected  and  tags within  blocks. For example:  ... generated conditions ...      ... Another condition ...  doesn't work. I guess the Zope internals weren't meant to handle this construct. Has anyone been here before? Any ideas? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Happy Zopeing! John Jarvis
