Thanks Michel. I had a shot at debugging FTPServer, but when a breakpoint such as the first line of the listdir function is hit, continuing just hangs the client so I'm not getting very far. Assigning Permissions to User Roles

Hi ! I have a product that uses userroles to set certain permissions on objects. i added user roles to my product (MUSHandle is the actual instance of my Product) with this: data=list(MUSHandle.__ac_roles__) data.append('Kunde') data.append('Vertriebspartner') data.append('Executive') data.append('Verwalter') MUSHandle.__ac_roles__=tuple(data) but when i try to assign permissions to my roles : AccessControl.Role.RoleManager.manage_role(self,'Verwalter',['ChangeMuS']) I fail :( Any suggestions?? Upgrading Zope

It is possible to upgrade a site which uses Zope 2.0a1 to a newer version (when it will be released) ? If yes, how ? --- Keep your mouth shut and people will think you stupid; Open it and you remove all doubt.

Object method calling rules

Hi all, After being pulled away for a bit, I'm finally back to Zopeing. Yay! I know this is explained somewhere, but I can't seem to find where... I have a Product that looks something like: class myProduct( ... ) ... view_html=HTMLFile('viewProduct',globals()) ... def __call__(self,REQUEST=None): return self.view_html(self,REQUEST) ... So I can use  to render it. I can also use  to call a method. My objects have part numbers of the form 'xxx-xxxxx-xx' as id's, so they have to be expressed as _['xxx-xxxxx-xx'] in python expressions. What I don't understand is why  returns an error: 'string' object has no attribute 'update_properties' By searching my mail archive, I found that I can use _.getitem('myObjInst',0) so that  works. My question: what is the difference between myObjInst and _['myObjInst']? _['myObjInst'] calls the __call__ method? Pointers to pertinent documentation would be greatly appreciated (I know it exists--I've read it once before :^) TIA, John Jarvis
