Hi, How can I replace the value in a list defined in REQUEST? For example, in a DTML Document:  How can I replace the value 'a' in list L with 1 so that L become [1,2,3,4,5]? In Python, it's easy. L[0]=1. How can one do the same thing in Zope DTML Document? T.C. Huang

OK, thanks for that. OT: Port 80?

(DC guys ignore this question, please) Ok, I realize I am probably exposing myself as a Linux newbie, but Zope will not start up on port 80. I realize this is because of some sort of security measure, as Zope is running as the user nobody, and Linux does not give anyone other than root the ability to assign ports lower than 1024. How do I get around this? I need to access this system through a firewall without letting any more ports through. I am running RedHat Linux 5.2, Python 1.5.2, and Zope 2.0.0a1. What's the return object after calling a SQL Method?

Dear Zoper: What's the return object when one runs a SQL query? How can one accesses the return object for further processing in another DTML Document? By using Z Search Interface, I can get a tabular query report after a SQL query method. How can I do if I want to get one of the items in the report for further processing in another DTML Document (for example, I want to update some column value of the selected record)? T. C. Huang

Argh. Grrr. Gnash. Wail. It works fine now. In fact, I probably "fixed" it within the first fifteen minutes. Then I made the mistake of assuming that Zope would re-load the broken Product from scratch the next time it started, and was mystified when my fix didn't take. The traceback screen for broken products needs the following at the top: <H1><strong><blink> Once you fix the bug reported below, DELETE THIS PRODUCT, and restart Zope. </blink></strong></H1> oh-the-pain-ly y'rs Evan Simpson

You'll probably find that port 80 is already bound to another application, probably Apache.
