Hmm... I'm not sure if this is what your looking for, but if an object is not aquired, then it's not wrapped, if it's not wrapped, then it doesn't have the attributes aq_base, aq_self, and aq_parent. Setting up variables

this is probably remarkably simple, but how do you create a variable with zope that would act as a counter within a page i.e a variable that could be incremented in a loop. I know you can use the changeProperty method on a property item, but this will not work if more than one person is viewing the site at once. Hello, I trashed my archives, and I can't manage to remember this. If someone could remind me this one... How can I test if an object is not acquired? aborting DTML parsing partway through a document.

I've got a product that gets included at the top of a document, with, eg, . This product checks for various fields being set, inserts some HTML if they are set, but if not, I want it to insert some different HTML, then abort rendering the page any further. What's the easiest way to do this? I'd prefer not to have to put some sort of  wrapper around the rest of the content of each page. Do I simply have to raise an exception of some sort, with the HTML I wish to show as the value? Anthony

Multiple selections from checkbox form - and others...

Hi! Got some questions that I hope you people can help me out with. 1) I want to manage a messagebord, mainly to remove unwanted/old messages. The messages are stored in a MySQL db. I have a sql method that select wanted data. I use the method in a form in a #in tag to displays the selected data, within the #in tag I added a <INPUT TYPE="checkbox" NAME="checked" VALUE=1>. I also have a hidden field submitting the id fields reffering to each selected record within the above mentioned #in tag. All looks just fine - the data is listed and checkboxes appear as they should. But trouble is - submitting the forms data will give me a list of 1's (only the checked out is submitted), and a list of _all_ selected row ids. I need just the ids corresponding to the checked out records. If it's at all possible - please tell me how to. 2) The DateTime module gives me all errors (on linux 2.0.35, zope 1.10.2, europe (error in timezone?) - is this something that'll be fixed in new zope releases, or does it exist a patch for it already? 3) I have a dtml_method called setup that handles the main look at my site. The method calls several other methods (content, navbar and links) and is initially beeing called from within index_html. How can I use the setup method from another dtml_method but have it so that the content method normally beeing called from setup be some other method (new_method)? Timezones

As I work in Australia I would like to add support for our timezones to the DateTime/DateTimeZone files. Adding the data to DateTime.py is fine but can anyone describe the format of the data in DateTimeZone.py as it somewhat cryptic to say the least ? TIA Robert Leftwich

Zope 1.10.2/python1.5.2/Ultrix 4.3A - Problems

Hi, Today decided to download and install Zope 1.10.2 on my Dec Station 5000/240. I am new to Zope and have no experience but I have some experience with python. I hope there is someone else who already tried to install zope on Ultrix? First I installed the new python1.5.2 - I hope Zope works with this new python release? As I am planning to use Zope with apache-1.3.4, I executed the script "w_pcgi.py". After some compiling, the process reported errors: My system (ULTRIX 4.3A) does not support shared modules, so I edited all "Setup" Files in "lib/python", commented the line "*shared*" and did a "make python". Then I had a new python binary that I installed over the old. Was this the right thing to do or is there a better way? I found no description of how to build Zope statically. Ok, now I copied the "Zope.cgi" file into my /cgi-bin/ Directory and started it -> I received the Error: "Service temporarily unavailable". Ok, the reason for it was that the "var" directory had wrong permissions, I did a "chmod ugo+rwx var" and a "chmod ugo+rw var/*" - but is this not quite dangerous for my system security? Anyway, after that I received another error: "Sorry, a SERIOUS APPLICATION ERROR occurred." I had a short look into the logfile but it gave me no clue, so I gave up for now. I hope you have some clue? Go to the root folder. Go to the export tab, leave the blank empty, and press export. It will create a file '.bbe' containing everything in your database. YMMV. Howard C.
