problem porting to Sun

I'm trying to move a pcgi app from Linux to Sun. I've downloaded and installed then latest ZPublisher package from zope.org. Using the Test.py that come with ZPublisher, it works fine. When I try to publish it for real, I get the following error: pcgi-wrapper: Interrupted system call (102) failure during connect Any ideas? Thanks Bill

Is it possible to split a Zope database into multiple files, while retaining conceptual unity? I don't like the thought that I am bound by a 2 gig restriction on my web site. Howard C. Shaw III Programmer/SysAdmin St. Thomas High School

ZServer b1 and Dreamweaver

ZServer's up and the FTP interface is working using Linux ftp, ncftp or Netscape Communicator with ftp:// But Dreamweaver 2.0 (Mac) won't work. Anyone else had success? Tree tag questions

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to customize the tree tag a bit. Here's my problem: 1. I would like to automatically expand a branch when I select the specific folder. + folder1 + folder2 *click on the "folder1" (not the "+") + folder1 + folder3 + folder2 As I see it, it would be possible by appending "?tree-e=<some code>#<row???>" How can I get the <some code> and the <row???> values from the tree tag? 2. To make the tree tag remember the current expanded state on different levels. Today the tree tag expansion vary between different sub-element. I suppose <some code> and <row???> could be used to accomplish this as well? 3. The next thing is to turn of then "+". You probably already have a sample info file in your Zope directory. Look for a file named Zope.cgi. Users who are allowed to work only within sessions?

I am building a site in which different people are responsible for editing and adding documents at different folders. The site's client wants to preview all changes before they go live. The editors can't be trusted not to mess things up, so they can't be allowed to work on the actual site. So, what I need is a way to allow certain users to work only inside a session - which seems to be impossible, because the only way to get into a session is to first log in, and then to activate the session. If an editor fails to activate a session, they're free to mess up the site. Can anyone think of a way to achieve this? Zserver & PCGI

Can somebody show me an example pcgi info file assuming I have ZServer and Zope installed in /usr/local/Zope & /usr/local/Zope/Zserver I would like to try and use this with Apache..Zope and Zserver work great at the moment. TIA, Daren

Creating Document with random num as ID?

I need to create DTML Documents with a [pseudo]unique [pseudo]random id. I can create the objects okay using manage_clone, and I have a method that generates my "unique" "random" id, but I can't seem to create either: a) create the object and then rename it using the random number, or b) [more desirable] create the object with the random id. Ideas? Thanks.

Does Zope's Cut, Copy & Paste work stable?

[This is Zope 1.10.2, don't know about the current CVS. I did a quick scan over the Known Bugs list and found nothing] If I cut'n'paste an object into another folder, the "Paste" button appears again when I change to a different folder, and leads to an error when hit. Same after deletion: Sometimes the "Paste" button appears after deleting an object. A few minutes ago I made a folder disappear, just by clicking cut, paste and the browser's back button wildly. I tried to reproduce this, but I can't. Sorry. I'm running Zope 1.10.2 on a NT machine an browse locally with IE4.01 cookies enabled. I've been using Zope's CopySupport for a while, and it works fine in the regular cases, but it doesn't seem stable when tried to be abused... Can anyone confirm? Stefan
