I am trying to update my database using url traversal. I'm pretty sure I need to give proxy permission in order to do update the database however there seems no way to do this. eg I am using a url like this http://provision.auslabs.lucent.com/cgi-bin/provision.exe/Download/qryComple teReg/MagicNumber/60330800/completeReg where qryCompleteReg is UPDATE users SET roles = 'Customer' WHERE username = ( SELECT unregUsers.username FROM unregUsers WHERE MagicNumber =  )  SELECT users.username, fullName, email FROM users, unregUsers WHERE MagicNumber =  AND unregUsers.username = users.username  DELETE FROM unregUsers WHERE MagicNumber =  Testing this sql_mehtod using the manage interface works perfectly but when I use it from the url above it seems to work however doesn't actually do the UPDATE or DELETE (The SELECT works however). Is there something I'm missing or is there a bug.

ZMySQLDB problem

This is crazy...I had ZMySQLDB working just fine on my FreeBSD box when I had to reboot it (moved to a new room) and now it comes up as a broken product....I look at the traceback and it says: Traceback (innermost last): File "/usr/local/Zope/lib/python/OFS/Application.py", line 395, in import_products product=__import__(pname, global_dict, global_dict, silly) File "lib/python/Products/ZMySQLDA/__init__.py", line 106, in ? import sys, os, Globals, DA File "lib/python/Products/ZMySQLDA/DA.py", line 108, in ? from db import DB File "lib/python/Products/ZMySQLDA/db.py", line 106, in ? import MySQL, regex, sys ImportError: Shared object "libmysqlclient.so.6.0" not found But I can cd to the ZMySQL dir and "import" the MySQL module. This worked fine until I rebooted..any ideas ??? Daren

I think the problem lay in the fact that I was trying to do another query inside an "in" tag or the equivalent. Reading between lines of the SQL Database users guide I believe it says this can't be done. I quote "It is often neccessary to execute more than one SQL statement in a single HTTP REQUEST. SQL database Methods define a variable sql_delimiter that can be used to divide individual SQL statements." I am currently trying to use a single sql method that does everything I wanted. Zope with Apache on NT

Has anyone gotten Zope 1.10.2 to work with the windows version of Apache (1.3.6)? Not if you think it goes in your Python directory, as opposed to Zope's Python directory. I'll move it and see what shakes loose. You might want to amend the installations to say to start by untarring in the Zope directory, not the Python directory... I'm building a web site using stock HTML, DTML, Zope, Python, and JavaScript (dynamically generated via DTML). I would really love to reduce the number of languages I'm dealing with by doing the JavaScript script stuff directly in Zope/Python. I don't have the first clue as to how to do this, if it's even possible. The main thing I use the JavaScript for is updating existing images on screen by changing document.images[imagename].src after preloading a bunch of images. The other is opening up a status or message window when the user clicks on a button. These things can be done, of course, by using standard form techniques and loading new pages, but I really like the ability to quickly update an image on screen from another image stored in a JavaScript Image object saved in cache. I keep thinking there must be a better, more Zopeish, way to do this, but I haven't stumbled across it yet. Here's a far out thought: how about some way to access the browser DOM from DTML or Python? I understand that the DOM and JavaScript live in the client, rather than the host where Zope/Python is running. Perhaps there could be some kind of DTML extension that would "auto-generate" JavaScript (some equivalent) in the document? E.g. (ignore any syntax errors or issues):    <img src= name="myimage" onCLick=">render image 1 </img> Then lets say that "imageswap" is a DTML method that does something like this:        </script> Why would one want do this this, you ask? For one, if a person didn't know JS, they could still use some of the JS capabilities without having to learn JS.
