Ugh, I really need to make sure I don't misrepresent things. We have some software that is "above the line" and some that is "below the line". Above the line software is not generally available. We might save it for our consulting customers, for partners (people that give case studies, etc.), or people contributing to projects (for instance, when the Zone takes off). Below the line software is publicly available. Some is supported (e.g. Zope) and some is unsupported (UserDB and Confera). Z Tables is above the line. The "guts" of Z Tables are below the line. Help needed on ZPyGreSQLDA and empty query result.

Hello All, I have a problem with the PostgreSQL module and empty query result: When a select query (named TestSearch bellow) return no tuple, the message is 'Error, exceptions.IndexError: tuple index out of range' In case of a Gadfly DB, the same query will return:'There was no data matching this select test query' My problem is that this query SQL method is use in a   etc... This cause a 'system unavailable' page to be rendered, instead of a ' no record something...' Do you know any workarround or DTML error trapping solution? Is it a bug inthe ZPyGreSQLDA module itself ? If yes it it inside the 'query' function? I actualy use an external method to filter the records, shall I also use a external method to do a 'try: except:' test on the TestSearch ? Thanks For any solution/help. I read the early Tabula Manager's Guide doc that Paul sent the URL for (thanks, Paul!). It looks like a Really Useful Thing(tm). I know that the machinery is in the 1.10 pr1 release... will the final 1.10 release actually have the management screens and "normal" product interface for Z Tables? Also, something that wasn't clear to me from the Manager's Guide: can you update (as in add/delete records) from a Z Table through the web? The doc makes it appear that Z Tables are updated only by uploading data files. Thanks for working to get Tabula and Confera out to the public! It's amazing stuff! Bug with External Methods and default params?

(First a little excuse: I've got an extreme lack of time right now, otherwise I would try to isolate the problem -- but maybe it's a bug already known) There seems to be a problem calling external methods with default parameters from DTML docs. I've got an external method (original signature): def pfadleiste(self, pfadleisten_info, cut_last_entry): "..." calling it via  is no problem at all, but if I change the signature to def pfadleiste(self, pfadleisten_info, cut_last_entry=1): calling the same page in an identical context gives one of these darned screwed-up "TypeError: read-only buffer, class" error that unluckily hide the original exception (a permanent pain when debugging -- if this changes with the new Zope version it would be a reason for me to upgrade even my existing system). ZServer medusa import problems on win32 RESOLVED

Thanks for all the suggestions, here's the scoop. Problem: even with the correct path, start.py would fail on "from medusa import .." Resolution: WinZip won't extract 0 length files, so the __init__.py for ZServer and ZServer/medusa didn't get extracted. Although I had created a ZServer/__init__.py, I didn't for medusa. Python Extensions are easier than it seems

Hi, Just wanted to let you know my experience with python extensions. I had been avoiding them because I had my hands full with learning Zope and DTML and SQL Methods. When I asked on the list about doing something that seemed very difficult Paul replied that a 10 line Python extension would do it. Well, yesterday I set out to do it. I have been reading about Python but had not used it yet. I looked at an example which gave me lots of clues and went at it. Within half an hour I had it working! 9 lines! What it does is it looks to see if a file exists (the name is stored in a database) in a given (NFS mounted) directory (in this case the path is also based on the first four characters of the filename). It returns an HTML link if the file exists or just the file name if it doesn't. Here is the code: import os def cadlink(file): server = 'http://netapp.regalint.com' url = '/web/so' + file[0:4] + '/' + file path = '/netapp/BBLM' + url if os.path.isfile(path): return '<A HREF=' + server + url + '>' + file + '</A>' else: return file I just call it as a function in DTML with  and it works! Open Source of Confera

Greetings Zopeheads, After talking about it we have finally worked up an open source release of Confera. This is *unsupported*. For those of you who don't know, Confera is a Threaded Discussion Product for Zope. It is very cool and is the only open source product so far to show off the search mechanisms. We hope that you in the community will take up Confera and make it your own (and also support it ;). We have done a little brushing up to make it Zope'afied, and I have just confirmed that it *runs* with Zope 1.10.2, but from there your on your own. [Q]: Absolute URL in tree tag

Sorry for the newbie question, but how do you get the links in a tree to use absolute URL's? Here is the simplified code:  <A HREF=""></A>  tree-item-url returns a relative URL. how do you get this to use an absolute one? Thanks in advance, Michael Bernstein.
