Hi! Question: What is my mailman password? Or how can I get it resent? *wonder* Andreas -- Win95: n., A huge annoying boot virus that causes random spontaneous system crashes, usually just before saving a massive project. Easily cured by UNIX. See also MS-DOS, IBM-DOS, DR-DOS, Win 3.x, Win98.

- Designing multilingual site in Zope?

Hi, I'd like to know if someone had experience designing a multilingual web site in Zope / Principia / Bobo? I have to build a web site with a lots of dynamically generated web pages from an SQL database and was wondering how to do it so that I can present documents in french and english (and maybe in other languages as well later). Off my head, I can think of two ways of doing this; either using cookies (which some users might not want so I'd rather not use them) or having a hierarchical structure where the same bundle of logic is either under localhost/fr-CA or localhost/en with the object instance (???) having a property containing the appropriate language code. The preferred language is of course selected from the root page in any case. Does someone have a better idea or some way to implement my ideas? - PCGI with IIS 4.0

Hi, Where can I get information (preferably a sample) for using pcgi with IIS ? My problem is that lured by the simplicity of getting pcgi to work on linux/apache I have promised to port my web app to IIS. I remember that there used to be several references for getting PCGI to work on IIS, but I can't find any of them now ;( and the included readme points to http://starship.skyport.net/crew/jbauer/persistcgi/ which is also not very helpful for IIS newbie like me (I have no idea how to make IIS execute the info file using pcgi_wrapper.exe, which I guess is the thing I should do) The only thing I did do was disabling challenge/response authentication in IIS, as recommended in Zope docs. And on possibly unrelated theme - my Zope (beta 3) doesn't run either on NT, after installing and starting the service it just says: Sorry, an error occurred.<p>  Any help is very much appreciated, ---------------------------- Hannu Krosing

- Dynamic database of documents?

My current project involves the maintenance of a database of documents. The documents are split up into a tree structure and each entry in the tree is editable. In Bobo-land (which is where we're developing the application until I understand Zope enough to move there) we just have a heirarchy of objects that reflect the contents of the database. This exposes itself as a URL of: docs/DID/MID/TID/edit for the edit method of the Topic entry given by the ID from the database, TID. MID and DID are the Module ID and Document ID. Problem is, I can't see a way of getting Zope to do the DID part of the URL. That is, have a folder ID that is dynamic (I _think_ that's what I mean ;) Richard

- Form-based input question (gadfly - Zope Zen)

Baby steps... I ran the Gadfly example, which worked great, and caused several epiphanies. I can deal with templates now... SO I decided to try some modifications. I now have a "View the Data" document in the gadflySample folder that shows me the contents of the zopedelic's zopista table in a nice format. Woo-hoo. Then I decided to try a simple input form that would send values to a modified insert_data Z SQL Method, which in turn would update the database. I have: <FORM NAME="insert" ACTION="insert_data"> two <SELECT> boxes, named "cola" and "colb" <INPUT TYPE="submit" VALUE="Insert Data"> When I select two numbers and click the "Insert Data" button, it goes and tries the insert_data method, which I've modified thus: insert into zopista (col_a,col_b) values (, ) The insert_data method first says, "This query requires no input." Clicking the "Submit query" button yields an error (not unexpectedly ;), to wit: "Error, exceptions.KeyError: cola SQL used: Could not render the query template!" I'm missing something big in my Zope Zen... Where might I find instruction on creating a query that will take forms-based input for its variables? Is there a cool method around that shows the contents of all the variables available (like the PHP <? phpinfo() ?> )? What is the prferred method for setting Zope to port 80? I can see several ways that might do it, should I create my own start script? or serve.py script? DAve.
