funny import-bug?

Hello, i've got the following error while trying to import something, has anybody an idea about the reason? I tried to import a .zexp (deep structure with ~ 300MB). The folder-id i tried to import currently doesn't exist. thanks for your help! regards, J. any ide for zope/python ?

Hi i am new to zope,but i have some experience in python programing with vim, i would like to know if there is a python ide with zope suport. I have tried komodo that doesnt have zope suport , but looks terrible in linux plus is very slow. And i dont consider wingide an option with that super high price. thanks.

Error with filenames during FTP

Are there any known issues when uploading via FTP files with names like:- content.asp%3Fcontent_category_id=1 I get a '426 Error creating file.' msg after it has been sent. What can I do about it? -- John

Oh no! FrontPage ;-). Some time ago (more than one year) somebody wanted to upload a website made with FronPage to our server. We saw it didn't upload some files, then we figured out that this software creates temporary files starting with "_" (underscore). Try to find those, make a copy of the contents and delete the temporary files. We also detected that normal html files were uploaded as dtml documents (Perhaps this has changed, I haven't used ftp since a long time), so, if you have some invalid expressions that conflict with dtml, it won't create the file on zope. You could break something else, and if you succeeded, then you will have to remmember to do this each time you upgrade your zope; otherwise, you will have a lot of nice broken links. I think the best way is to manually edit the conflicting pages. Conclusion: Don't use FrontPage. It adds extra unnecessary info to your pages. Don't even edit your html files with word. I saw once that this software changes all the slashes on your paths for backslashes, so your site will work perfect on IE, but it will fail with other browsers (netscape 4.x comes in mind, mozilla I think copes with this) Finally don't use ftp, it's insecure. You had better user localfs with scp (google for winscp for windows systems). Accessing the Values of a Select Element

Does anyone know how to access the values of a html select element that is defined to hold multiple values in Zope? In PHP, this element would be treated as an array but I have no idea how Zope handles this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. - Asad

Zope book recommendations

There seem to be a few more books on Zope than when I got my Zope Bible, which I haven't found as useful as I hoped. What would anyone recommend for someone interested in building web sites using Zope? -- John

Please keep your posts on the list... I am not familiar with 'invokeFactory', but I have used manage_addDTMLDocument (and DTMLMethod) with no problems. When in doubt... try it! Getting data from the body of a post

One of the companies working with my employer on a largish project needs to submit the contents of a file to our Zope server. Their middlewear application doesn't seem to be able to send multipart forms, so it just sticks the contents of the file into the body of the post. Is there an easy way to get at this data? I can't find the request['BODY'] attribute from inside Python scripts, so I'm at a loss for where to look. -- Kirk Strauser The Day Companies
