FastCGI didn't use to need VirtualhostMonster???

I couple of years ago I set up zope using FastCGI & Apache1 and all I needed in httpd.conf was the following... FastCgiExternalServer /var/www/html/zope -socket /tmp/zope.soc -pass-header Authorization <Location /zope> SetHandler fastcgi-script </Location> When I accessed the default web host e.g. http://localhost/zope I got zope. No need to set up Virtualhostmonsters or Siteroots in Zope. It just worked. All the links magically began with http://localhost/zope. That's why I really liked the FastCGI solution over using proxypass. Now, I try the same thing with Plone & Apache 2 (which should be the same in respect of Apache/FastCGI) and all the links just begin with http://localhost. Can someone please tell me what changed between then and now. Is it Apache, FastCGI or Zope? Also, is there anyway I can get this system to work again without resorting to unsightly Virtualhostmonsters? Sorry I can't remember the exact versions of applications I was using. I think Zope 2.4 had just come out and I was using Apache 1.3.x. Today I am using latest releases with Apache 2.0.x. Thanks, SimonB

Howto find memory leaks?

I think I have a memory leak. After 7 days I have a memory consumption of 300MB. exceptions/documentation problem

Hi, this mail is because of lack of Zope documentation. I got to call method of one of the ZopeObjects (Folder). Is there any docs about what exceptions can be thrown? How to prevent the manage from outer connections ?

Hi ! I need to re-develop my site, because I need make this site opened to outer connections (some, not for all). It is an intranet site, but some functions are needed to access from "outernet". I don't want to anyone manage my site from outside. How to prevent these requests ? Thanx for help: FT

RDFSummary issue

I'm having an odd problem with the RDFSummary product, although I'm not sure that the problem is with the product itself. It appears that either this product or a Python XML parsing function is converting "&" into "&", instead of "&". Browsers don't seem to mind, but Zope's TAL parser evidently doesn't recognize "&" as an entity (not that it should), and so escapes the ampersand on output. Since tal:attributes doesn't support a "structure"-like operation, I had to write a custom script to produce links for my RSS feed. Anyway, I'd like to know where this incorrect conversion is happening so I can address it appropriately. Thanks! Error setting a session variable

Hi everybody, I'm new to this group. I got the very strange error below while setting a SESSION variable. Cannot understand why, because it says it is a SQL error. in Properties, how to assign values to multiple selection property

I am trying to add a multiple selection property from the ZMI properties tab. Not sure how to set the name and value pair for each option. Only the name part work, when I set the value of the multiple selection property to another lines property or tokens property. I'm trying to get this: <option selected>Name</option> to this: <option value="21" selected>Name</option> TIA

Login problem

I'm using zope 2.6.2b5 and I'm having trouble logging on (using exUserFolder). After entering user name, password, and hitting submit - the screen redirects back to the login screen with no error statement about bad user name or password. I'm only getting the problem on one of my installs - it used to work just fine but suddenly stopped! I don't think anything has changed on the machine. Anyone got any ideas? backbutton and form selections

I just migrated from Zope 2.3.2 on NT to Zope 2.7 on Win2k. I have a lot of pages where many selections are made (checkboxes) and then submitted to use a SQL method and create a report. On the old setup, hitting the back button would take me back to the form page with all the form selections/de-selections remembered. Now, this works with Mozilla but no longer with IE ? Any ideas?

ZMySQLDA

Hi folks, I need to connect my Zope-instance to MySQL. I have installed Zope (2.6) with a working adapter to MySQL. Now I have installed Zope 2.7, too. I have downloaded the adapter as a src.rpm-component and have installed it with the konquerer. I believe that I have done it. At least Yast opened and did something. But nothing appeared in the products-list of Zope 2.7. Then, I have copied the product "ZMySQLDA" from version 2.6 to version 2.7. Now, of course the product appears in the list.
