TraversalError in custom TALES namespace during Five tests

I've implemented a custom TALES namespace that works fine when tested in the browser, but blows up in doctests. Anybody seen behavior like this? It appears that during the test, my adapter is looked up fine, but later when we try to traverse to the method, we end up with a zope.security._proxy._Proxy wrapper that hides the existence of my methods. Just to reiterate, the same code *works fine* when running Zope for real, and I only see this failure during tests. Storing unicode in ZODB objects

Hello, I'm trying to store strings with certain unicode characters that don't convert to ascii in the ZODB. Specifically, as a file object and as properties of that file object. I get the following errors (from a script): *Error Type: AttributeError* *Error Value: 'unicode' object has no attribute 'seek'* and *Error Type: UnicodeEncodeError* *Error Value: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\u201c' in position 0: ordinal not in range(128)* Is there a way to work around this? or do I need to use a relational DB to store the data? I'm on Zope 2.9.7 Thanks, Thibaud

problem with a form in IE 7

We are running Zope 2.9.8 on Macintosh OS X Server 10.5.5 behind Apache 2.x. I am having a problem when trying to submit one of my forms in IE 7. This only happens on Windows XP and it only started happening recently (we think in the past week). The form contains several select boxes. When the user selects a value from one of the select boxes, it submits the form and processes the selection. The error I receive is an IE error that says: "Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Webpage". And for some reason, all of my selectbox values are showing in the URL as parameters. This is not supposed to happen. If I remove the parameters from the URL line and press enter, it works fine. I have another page that works similar to this one (with multiple select boxes that submit the form upon selection), that doesn't experience the same problem. I even changed my form action to go to a plain html page, and it still tries to pass all of my form variables in the URL string. I went to Microsoft's trouble shooting page for this error. I've tried deleting my browser history, clearing out any cached items, and also re-starting IE without "Add-Ons". The server has been restarted as well. None of these options have resolved the issue. Neither the Apache log nor the Zope error log shows these errors. Has anyone encountered this problem? If so, what have you done to resolve the issue?

single zsql on multiple tables or multiple zsql s

Hi All, In my project iam using zsqls. Now i want to improve performance of project.So i thought to reduce number of zsqls,expecting it may improve performance. using one zsql to fetch values from different tables ,can increase performance ?(instead of using multiple zsqls on multiple tables). Is there anyother ways to improve performance in using zsql.please suggest me if any. Thanks in advance, Raj.

Modifying Cookie crumbler

Hi All, I have been using cookie crumbler for my site.From the code, I figured out that it stores a base64 encoded value of the username:pass in the cookie. My doubt is how do I modify this behaviour of CC? CC allows me to override the set and expire the authCookie methods.I don't want my user's credentials store in a cookie encoded using base64. Also, is it a good idea to store the users password in the session data? The reason being that the users are not stored on zope and their passwords are one time tokens received from an external auth service.I felt that if I store them in zodb, then it becomes difficut to flush them out after every session. My client's zope has two back ends, /manage and /tools. tools is the one with the more user friendly interface and manage is the utilitarian one. When users goto /tools tho, and click the "assets" folder the site times outs with this: [code] Proxy Error The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the request GET /tools/assets/. Reason: Error reading from remote server [/code] However, I can get there just fine through manage. Trying : select * from mytable <sqltest mylist multiple type=int column=id> did not work, it generates a ProgrammingError - Module Shared.DC.ZRDB.DA, line 374, in __call__ - Module Products.ZMySQLDA.db, line 273, in query ProgrammingError: (1064, "You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '<sqltest mylist multiple type=int column=id> LIMIT 1000'") My problem was that I tried to test my Z SQL method through the ZMI, testing with a python script worked fine with the following Z SQL method : SELECT * FROM MyTable <dtml-sqlgroup where> <dtml-sqltest mylist column=id type=int multiple> </dtml-sqlgroup> I also modified the "mylist" parameter declaration to specify that it is a list of integers which is set to none if no parameter is passed. liste:list:int=none Thanks for your reply

nginx proxy zope/webdav, can't see files

hi, i´m trying to connect davfs to zope/webdav by way of nginx. this works fine (once davfs is configured correctly) conecting directly (that is w/out nginx in the middle). with nginx in the middle i can not see the files. that is "ls /davfs/mout/point" shows an empty folder. i can upload to that folder, if i mount directly to a folder where my user has permissions. but can´t see the files there. the folder is not empty. again, i can list the files using davfs without nginx as. on the nginx list i was told that the probem was most likely due to path formation. here is the client request, responces from nginx and zope and the configuration of nginx vhost. hopefully someone on this list can shed some light on the issue. > Probably, the problem is that in nginx case you use "PROPFIND /dav/nomndaa1/" > while server responses to "PROPFIND /nomndaa1/" or "PROPFIND /plune/nomndaa1/" > (according previously posted configuration).
