Hi, I am having some problems with the authentication logic.My application uses three roles--Student,Faculty and staff.I use my login page(cookie authentication) to collect the username and password and I use the LDAP directory to authenticate.The authentication works fine but when I log out and hit the back button in the browser,I am still going to the secure page and not redirected to the login page.I check for roles in all pages.I think my way of expiring the cookie is not correct. For logout, I use the following statements for cookie expiration bu tit deosnt work. Can you see whats wrong? <dtml-call expr="RESPONSE.expireCookie('__ac',path='/')"> <dtml-call expr="SESSION.invalidate()"> Thanks in advance, Srini

put_factory

Hi all, i've developed and registed a own python-class as ZClass and ZBaseClass in Zope. Now i want to create a new (pure) ZClass with the ZBaseClass as subclass and force ftp/webdav to use this ZClass for uploading. If i write the put_factory for the python-class it works well, if i try to use the put_factory for the pure ZClass i run in trouble. Is it possible to use put_factory in the context of pure ZClass anyway, and how do i have to call the ZClass constructor? ralph

ID update fails to change ID in ZMI

I have the following code and when I update the edit through the editform interface, then the id in the ZMI does not change. When I try to rename the item, it works as long as the internal and ZMI values are the same, otherwise I get weird errors: 1. If they are different and I rename the id through the ZMI to something new, it stack traces. 2. If they are different and I rename the id through the ZMI to the internal representation, then no error but also no change to the value in the ZMI. Any comments? For those who don't want to patch the sources, I've found another solution, that seems to work quite well: add an access rule like this: request = container.REQUEST if request.SERVER_URL[-4:] == ':443': request.setServerURL(protocol='https') #request.setServerURL(protocol='http', port='80') The second commented line seems to be an interesing option if you don't want every URL to be "https". I tried this with a pound proxy in front, but this should work without as well. In earlier ZODB versions (that distributed with Zope 2.6.x), "clear" caused a SIGSEGV. Then, I used "minimize" instead of "clear". Python DateTime()

I'm trying to use the following line to insert current date: DateTime.strftime(%m-%d-%Y) ... and get: unbound method strftime() must be called with instance as first argument If I just use: DateTime() ..I get current date, just not the format I want. Ideas? Thanks for your help. Israel

problem with zope-2.7.0 running as service on win xp

hi *! I've been running zope-2.7.0 on a windows xp box successfully for a while. after a reboot, the zope service was not able to start. there was no error message at all in <INSTANCE_HOME>\log. running zope with <INSTANCE_HOME>\bin\runzope.bat was doing fine, but that will not fit my needs. so I decided to completey remove zope and perform a complete reinstall. but unfortunately the zope server will still not start as a service. in the eventlog of the manangement console of win xp, there a serveral entries with source = PythonService: entries=""" -The Zope_-2045396663 service has started (Zope instance at D:\home\zope\main). -Zope_-2045396663 (Zope instance at D:\home\zope\main): process died unexpectedly. MappingStorage for ZEO Sessions?

hi I have a 4 client ZEO cluster that I am setting up a central sessions storage for. I'm wondering if someone can give me a little feedback on what I have done, eg i have a few questions: 1. am i doing this right? 2. where does the mapping storage store itself on the filesystem? as part of the Data.fs of the root-mounted filestorage? 3. If i add a transient object container a level below the zope root, will its data also get stored in the Mapping Storage?
