Using page templates to generate large XML files

Hi all. I need to generate a large XML file inside a Zope application; the file is for backup purposes, so it is stored on the server and can be downloaded later with whatever suitable tool. The data are taken from a database, and then they are used to create the XML. I assume there will be between 40.000 and 100.000 rows to be dumped. I thought i could use page template for this purpose, but I'm not sure if it is possible to send the output from a pt to a file, directly. Of course, this is a problem which can be easily solved. I wonder however if the PT has to generate the whole XML in just one step; in that case, maybe I should resort to use PT on one row at time, and write the data to different files. TAL conditional expression

I would like to test the value of a field entered on a form in a zpt, but I'm don't know the syntax basically I would like to do something like this <div tal:condition="request/form/fieldA=1"> do this <p metal:use-macro="here/atemplate/macros/may" /> </div> but this doesn't seem to want to work. Issues with instance migration and TextIndexNG2->TextIndexNG3

Hello, I just needed to migrate a zope2.10 instance from one host to another. The zope version on the original host was 2.10.5, on the new destination host it's 2.10.6. Most disk products are the same, only TextIndexNG2 on the original host changed to TextIndexNG3 on the new destination host. I simply copied the Data.fs and all Extensions to the new host after preparing the new instance. So far everything seems to work out of the box, except that I get an error for TextIndexNG3 in the events.log and the product TextIndextNG3 is not listed in the Products management in the ZMI. Other instances, which are created from the scratch on this new host don't get ther error, thus I fear that it's not connected to the Product but to some conflict in the old Data.fs. Kupu: uncaught exception

Hi! Sorry for post this question on this list but I ask at kupu list (last wednesday) without success (glups!) Context: Zope 2.7.8-final Plone 2.0.5 Kupu 1.3.9 (the last tested version on 2.0.5) This is the exact error (copied from firebug) uncaught exception: [Exception... Hi all: I am trying to build a mechanism which cross-checks requests and responses to fnd out if any requests got dropped in a ZEO scheme. Is there a Zope2.x product that analyzes requests and heir corresponding responses. Any alternatives? I am running a ZEO server/Zope288/Python23. Is there a way to have two separate zope instances on different machines and have them both authenticate against one acl_users folder on only one of these machines? regards garry

Styles of import in Zope (2 and 3)

Please, feel free to point me to The Fine Manual to read, if this has been answered and written many times. After reading the article "Importing Python Modules" (http://effbot.org/zone/import-confusion.htm) I had many doubts about the style to use in imports in Zope 2 and Zope 3. The article points to a style which should be: from package.subpackage import module and then use module.MyClass Is this the recomended style in Zope2/3 also?
