Iterating over a Python list with <dtml-in>

Dear newsgroup, I want to iterate over a list returned by a Python script using the <dtml-in> tag of Zope. The script looks like this: # Script BEGIN missing = [] for curprop in context.sqlGetObjectProperties(objid=curobjid): found = 0 for prop in context.sqlGetObjectTypeProperties(objtypid=curobjtypid): if (curprop.propid == prop.propid): found = 1 if (found == 0): missing.append(prop.propid) return missing # Script EOF The test DTML document looks like this <dtml-in expr="pyGetMissingObjectProperties(curobjid=objid,curobjtypid=objtypid)"> <dtml-var sequence-index><br> </dtml-in> and works fine, I see several sequence indexes. But how do I actually access the values from the list? <dtml-var missing> within the <dtml-in> block does not work :( Thanks for any help! Sven Jacobs

Losing acquisition wrapping between method calls

I get a problem where "self" loses it's acquisition wrapping between method calls. It happens as follows: Defintion: ========== class MyClass(CatalogAware, SimpleItem): # snip def fancySetattr(self, attrName, attrValue): self.__dict__['_dyn_%s' %attrName] = attrValue self.reindex_object() MyClass.__setattr__ = fancySetattr Usage: ====== #get MyClass instance myInstance = folder.restrictedTraverse("Instance1") myInstance.aq_parent #works ok myInstance.name = "John" Problem: ======== when stepping into the above code, I end up, as expected, in fancySetattr with "self" being myInstance. All is fine, except for the fact that "self" is no longer acquisition wrapped thus the self.reindex_object() line does not work as it is dependant on being able to acquire the catalog, which it can't. Why does myInstance lose it's acquisition wrapper once it is passed to fancySetattr as "self"? Is there a way to re-wrap it or not lose the wrapping at all? Any help would be appreciated! reindex_object in __setattr__ method not working. (was: Losing acquisition wrapping between method calls)

Hi there, I am using __setattr__ in my class to decide if the class needs to be reindexed or not. The problem is, the moment you enter the __setattr__ method, self is not acquisition wrapped anymore, which means that reindex_object does not work since it cannot acquire the Catalog. This can be illustrated with the following small test class: class AQTest(CatalogAware, SimpleItem): '''Test class''' meta_type = "Health Window Test" def __setattr__(self, attrName, attrValue): if attrName.startswith('abc'): self.reindex_object() #This doesn't work, since self is no longer acquisition wrapped here, eg. self.aq_parent raises an error self.__dict__[attrName] = attrValue def test(self): '''Test method''' self.abcname = 'John' Any suggestions on how to fix this? Type uploading via FTP - Plone

When I upload a msword document to my plone site via FTP, it sets as 'Plone File'. I want to use ExFile so I can preview this documents into my Plone site, so I need to get the uploaded files to be set automatically as 'ExFile's. Is this possible? TIA

i m using zope 2.6.2,ZODBC for mysql of win xp i have created members dir and deleted the default acl_users folder. in members dir i hv created the XUF acl_users and setup for mysql for standard authentication Members - acl_users [ XUF ] now i access the members dir ..i won't able to access with the mysql users username and password.. i hv searched a lot and found some fix on the page http://mail.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2003-September/141691.html i hv modified the mysqlAuthSource.py and stared the zope but still the system is not working.. afters doing some modification in file mysqlAuthSource.py some time it gives me maximum recursion error or attibute error for mysqlauth etc.. please help 2 work with mysql,zope,xuf thx __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? OT: Q about mockup-making software

I am frequently required to make mockups in the course of developing a project. I am not comfortable using Dreamweaver or another WYSIWYG tool, mostly because I really don't care about the actual HTML that will eventually be generated, and I don't want to need to learn all of the other stuff that comes along with Dreamweaver to do this. I find that I also tend to get sidetracked in making things "look nice" in Dreamweaver, when in reality it just doesn't matter at the time when I'm doing it. Also, I don't even care that the resulting mockup looks much like what it will eventually look like in HTML. The mockup doesn't even need to be dynamic (it needn't show the actual dropping down of dropdown boxes, or the actual scrolling of multiselect boxes, etc). The only dynamicism required is a capability that would allow me to create a set of images that could be navigated by mouse clicks, each mouse click which would essentially just lead to another "page" which could itself be a static image with hotspots representing clickable areas. I have created mockups in the past by creating multiple GIFs, each representing a page (using things like Open Office Draw and/or Visio, saving each "page" I create to a GIF) and using an imagemap editor to create hotspots on the each GIF that lead to another imagemap. This works very well, but it is tedious because I can't seem to find any tools that allow me to do this across multiple images, retaining imagemap state across edits, and allowing me to treat a collection of images + imagemaps as a "project". Additionally, I would like the tool to be able to show me a graphical thumbnail-ish overview of all "pages", with lines drawn between the pages representing the clicktrail. Assuming anyone can decipher my poorly-phrased description of my problem above, does anyone have a preferred method or tool they use to do something like this? I don't care about platform (if it's a Mac tool, and it works well, I'll buy a Mac ;-) If nothing exists, I'll create my own. - C

It's just a thought, and I should point out I don't do such work myself (Though I work with people who do, but they use Dreamweaver and more complex mockups), but ... Wouldn't PDF do all this ? It can ingest/display raster images, have hotpots and links, ToC's with thumbnails, etc ... Easily viewed, plenty of good tools and support (Including, since you mentionned it OpenOffice), and so on ... Just an idea ! Zope 2x, Plone 1 and 2, and Apache- No Style Sheets Come Through

I have tried two different methods to serve plone1/2 and Zope 2.6,2.7 through apache 2 on windows with the same result- the pages come through but not the style sheets. One uses sitetroot in the plone folder and one uses VirtualHostMonster in the root. (Or if they did, failed miserably) My only real reservation is that Zope seems very stuck on making everything a web interface. Personally I don't like web interfaces for most things. I would like to write my programs so that they use the XML-RPC publishing and integrate my client programs with user programs such as eclipse and openoffice.org. For example, one thing I am working on is a requirements management system that stores the data in an application server (hopefully Zope) but the users write their requirements documents in openoffice and openoffice interacts with the app server to store the requirements. I want the main user interface to be openoffice for that, not the web. The web interface would probably just be a read-only view for people who won't download openoffice. Is something like that reasonable in Zope? hacking SSL support

I've recently installed Zope 2.6.3 with Pound 1.6 in front. I tried the replacement z2.py that ships with Pound, with no luck. All the docs I've read suggest that getting a SSL wrapper in front of Zope is a solved problem, yet I keep running into problems like the below in the html source generated by the default index_html: img src="http://localhost:443/p_/ZopeButton" width="115" This of course needs to be https://localhost:443/... for it to work. There are 3 ways I can see to fix this.. For my purposes replacing "http" with "https" for all self-referencing URLs generated by Zope would be fine. This is to be a secure server so turning off http completely is fine for me. It would be better (and a much prettier hack) if I leveraged the X-Forwarded-For header, that way http://zopehost:8080 would still work. If Zope could be set up to detect if X-Forwared-For was set to my Pound front-end's IP and generate all https:// URLs in the replies..... that would be awesome. I wonder though if perhaps Zope should just be smarter about seeing a port number of 443 and automatically generate https URLs in response. Would that break anything existing? If anyone has already done work in this area, or has an idea where in the Zope code would be a good place to start hacking, please let me know! I'd like to make the smallest patch to Zope possible so that it can be maintained easily in future versions and possibly even merged into 2.6.x or 2.7.x. Tom
