Hello everybody I am wondering, if there are some howto patching the zope 10 files specifically for $MYZOPEHOME/lib/python/ZServer/datatypes.py Because when I try to patch like: patch datatypes.py datatypes.py.patch, the result: patching file datatypes.py Hunk #1 FAILED at 72. 1 out of 1 hunk FAILED -- saving rejects to file datatypes.py.rej It is the only file failed, the others one were fine. Mac os x, zope 2.11.0 importing products

Dear all, I just installed successfully zope2.11.0 on my mac. I'm having a problem with importing some products. For instance ZMySQLDA (v. 2.0.8) gives me this error: ------ 2008-06-21T12:37:30 ERROR Application Couldn't install ZMySQLDA Traceback (most recent call last): File "/Applications/zope211/lib/python/OFS/Application.py", line 758, in install_product global_dict, global_dict, silly) File "/Applications/zope211/instance1/Products/ZMySQLDA/ __init__.py", line 91, in ? import DA File "/Applications/zope211/instance1/Products/ZMySQLDA/DA.py", line 155, in ? misc_={'conn': ImageFile( File "/usr/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/PIL/ImageFile.py", line 74, in __init__ self.fp = open(fp, "rb") IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'Shared/DC/ZRDB/www/ DBAdapterFolder_icon.gif' ------ After a google search I found this: http://dev.x3ng.com.br/browser/ Recria/buildout/patches/zmysqlda-imagefile.patch?rev=2386&format=txt It looks like the problem is related to PIL and after applying the patch (-from ImageFile import ImageFile +from Globals import ImageFile) everything works just fine. The question is: why this problem doesn't happen with zope2.10.5? I have the same setup... same python, same PIL. Applying the patch to the products doesn't look like a good school. Do you have any suggestion? Your help is much appreciated, Giampiero

record count in catalog

Hi all, The Catalog tab in my catalog says this: The catalog "mycatalog" contains 30,345 record(s) in the path "/". But when I sort and return a list of cataloged objects I only have 19,881. Here is the script call to retrieve the records: context.mycatalog.search( {}, sort_index='lastname' ) Why don't the numbers match up? -d

template / context question

I am trying to separate out small bits of HTML that are used on many pages of a site. In one case I use a secondary navigation on some pages in the right column that is supposed to look in the containing folder's sub-folders and list the Page Templates that is finds there. I create a folder called /templates/widgets and within there I have a Page Template called template-lister. <h2>Quick Links</h2> <ul tal:define="ztu modules/ZTUtils; raw python:context.objectValues('Folder'); location_folder_list python:ztu.LazyFilter(raw, skip='View')"> <li tal:repeat="location_folder location_folder_list"> <a href="" tal:attributes="href location_folder/absolute_url" tal:content="location_folder/title">Location Title</a> title <ul tal:define="raw python:office_folder.objectValues('Page Template'); posting_list python:ztu.LazyFilter(raw, skip='View')"> <li tal:repeat="posting posting_list" tal:condition="posting_list"> <a href="" tal:attributes="href posting/absolute_url" tal:content="posting/title">Posting Title</a> </li> <li tal:condition="not: posting_list"> No Postings at this time </li> </ul> </li> </ul> If I put this code directly in each Page Template that uses it, it works fine, but when removed from each Page Template and called like so: it uses the context of the "/templates/widgets" folder and does not work. Because this bit of TAL is used on many pages and the style of it changes often, I really want to pull it out into one place for easy updating. I know I am missing something elemental here ... ZODB and Zope Database Adapters

Hi all. In the doc/ZODB3.txt of Zope 2.8 (and Zope 2.9) I've found the following paragraph. " ZODB 3 and Zope Database Adapters Most database adapters are *currently* likely to be problematic unless the underlying extensions and libraries: - allow multiple simultaneous database connections, - are thread safe, - give up the Python global interpreter lock when making database calls. This is only a problem when running Zope 2 with multiple threads.
