LDAPUserFolder question

I am using LDAPUserFolder-2.9 with Zope 2.10.6 on Ubuntu 7. It is working well, users can log in and I can map groups to Zope roles. However, I was hoping that I could assign groups local roles, so that I can allow groups to be 'Managers' only in certain sub-folders of our site. Is this possible with LDAPUF, do I need additional packages, have i set it up incorrectly? Thanks for any advice.

The problem is I have is that if a do a search for "text" and say there's results that have the word "text" in one or more of those indexes: catalog({name:query}) or catalog({body:query}) or catalog({description:query}) only gives back limited results (leaves out some 'True' hits) and: catalog({name:query}) + catalog({body:query}) + catalog({description:query}) gives me back the same result 3 times. any ideas? I wonder why class constructor is never in apidoc ?

Annoying when objectValues() doesn't work

zope stops responding

Following a hard disk crash 2 weeks ago we have installed Zope onto a new server and all was fine until yesterday morning when Zope stopped responding and required a restart to get it working. It did the same at 3-30pm today. We are using Zope 2.9.0 on Centos 5.1 on a quad Zeon server with 4gb. Ram. At the moment the server is in quite heavy use with teachers trying to write reports for a deadline tomorrow. These are sent to a Postgres DB via psycopg. There is nothing in Z2.log or event.log to point me to the problem. I am therefore asking for advice on the sorts of things that can cause Zope to stop responding and whether there is anything we can do to mitigate against such an event. Thanks and regards Garry

How to deal with that '*wanted* behaviour' if I do have several public projects on the same zope instance but don't want all of them being accessible through the domain of every other project? For example two competing projects/organisations might be hosted on one and the same zope instance, and for sure project 'red' would hate it to make project 'green' available through their domain via http://www.red.org/green. greetings, jonas

VirtualHostMonster: access to all content in instance

Hello, We just discovered that when using VirtualHostMonster in apache RewriteRules, it is possible to access every content in the zope instance. If the URL points to a subfolder, just like http://localhost:9080/VirtualHostBase/http/www.name.com:80/subfolder/Virtua… then it's still possible to access content below that subfolder on the instance. If $1 is some foldername that doesn't exist in the subfolder bug instead in the root folder of the instance, it's content is returned. An example to make it explicit: Let's assume we have three directories in the root folder of the instance: /project1, /project2 and /project3. The VirtualHostMonster is used to access project2 directly via www.project2.com: RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://localhost:9080/VirtualHostBase/http/www.project2.com:80/project2/Vir… [P] But both project1 and project3 are also accessible through project2.com over the URLs "http://www.project2.com/project1" and "http://www.project3.com/project3". Is this a known issue? I consider that as a quite serious bug, as both project1 and project3 might be private and should not be published over the globally available apache rewriterule. CMF security error in DCWorkflow that doesn't make sense

First of all, I'm not sure if this is the right mailing list but hopefully the DCWorkflow people read this list too. I've got a strange problem. On my laptop it works (zope 2.7.8) on the live server it works (zope 2.7.3) but on the test server (2.7.8) it doesn't!!! And it's the same Data.fs and Products as the live server. It throws an Unauthorized error upon executing a python script as part of a workflow transition. The Error: The owner of the executing script is defined outside the context of the object being accessed. The script has proxy roles, but they do not apply in this context.. Access to 'workflow' of (Products.DCWorkflow.Expression.StateChangeInfo instance at 0xddffb48) denied. Access requires Manage_portal_Permission, granted to the following roles: ['Manager']. The executing script is (PythonScript at /intranet/portal_workflow/intranet_workflow/scripts/wf_script_despatcher), owned by oliver. The Python script has Proxy role "Manager" so how can it be limited? I didn't write this CMF based application and I want to get on top of it so it doesn't happen again. Z2.log has "Anonymous" users

Hello, My plone instance doesn't log user names into the Z2.log access log file. Instead I always get user names as "Anonymous". Is there any setting that I need to change to get the user name correctly? I am on the following versions of Plone/Zope: * Plone 3.0.5 * CMF-2.1.0 * Zope (Zope 2.10.5-final, python 2.4.4, linux2) * Python 2.4.4 (#1, Jun 30 2008, 14:50:35) [GCC 3.4.6 20060404 (Red Hat 3.4.6-3)] * PIL 1.1.6 Any help is appreciated. Problems with Zope + Apahe and exUserFolder logins

Hi everyone. I am migrating my web application to a new server and I am trying to configure Zope + Apache as described in http://wiki.zope.org/zope2/ZopeAndApache . I previously used fast-cgi to communicate Apache with Zope and it worked just fine. I use exUserFolder to store my users in a postgresql database. Everything seems to work fine except when I try to login to a restricted area through port 80. After debugging a bit (unfortunately I'm not any Zope guru) I've noticed that the username and password variables which are posted from the login page are located at the HTTPRequest? <http://wiki.zope.org/zope2/ZopeAndApache/createform?page=HTTPRequest>.stdin property when the page is accessed through the 8080 port, but they are not present when the page is accessed though apache. Anyone has any clue about what might be going on? Thanks a lot.
