looking for a CMF python functions reference
by Barbara Post 03 Dec '03

Hi, I browsed the web and didn't find what I'm looking for : a CMF python functions reference. I use latest Plone and wanted to know every python method that is applicable to a "Folder" object, for example : I already know getFolderContents(). Thanks for any hint, if anyone knows. Barbara Post

And did you test your ZPT Source with PageTemplate in ZMI? Maybe its easyer to debug there. Also compare with products that also use ZPT files for their ZMI. Regards Tino

javascript/zope object browsing widget
by Paul Winkler 03 Dec '03

03 Dec '03

I find myself in need of a javascript pop-up that can emulate a typical file-browsing widget... but instead of browsing the filesystem, I need to browse CMF content objects. I need it to return the path to the selected object when the user clicks OK. Anybody got a link to a good starting point? I've been doing zope for years but I'm still new to javascript. -- Paul Winkler http://www.slinkp.com Look! Up in the sky! It's DISGRUNTLED WARRIOR FANG! (random hero from isometric.spaceninja.com)

My first question.
by Goldthwaite, Joe 03 Dec '03

03 Dec '03

My first question got lost in all the discussion of the second. I'm going to repost it in hopes of getting lucky. In order to keep my table headers consistent across reports, I have them stored as a separate DTML method called IS_Ptd_Header. In my main Income Statement, I have this where I want the table header to show up; This works fine. The problem I've run into is when I want to use tal tags in the IS_Ptd_header like this; Income Statement for period Period If I have this line in the Income Statement ZPT it works. I get the "Per" parameter from the URL. When the same line in IS_Ptd_Header gets ignored so the resulting page shows "Income Statement for period Period". I thought that maybe the tal tags were being ignored because IS_Ptd_Header is a DTML method so I created a ZPT with the name IS_YTD_Header and used that in the tal replace command but the result came back as HTML quoted text instead of the actual HTML. Anyone know what I'm missing? It doesn't look like ZPT is designed to work this way. For my footer, (for now) I just have the </table> tag to finish my table. The ZPT gives me a mismatched tag error. What's the best way to modularize the web pages? Thanks

PTS: How to set language
by Tonico Strasser 03 Dec '03

03 Dec '03

Hello! I'm not sure if this the right list to ask questions about PlacelessTranslationService: Is there something similar to the accept_methods in the Localizer Product? I want to set the prefered language programmatically. I've seen PloneLanguageTool which seems to do that, but I'm not on Plone. Thanks! Trying to place that tag to other places, removing the > macro, etc. have not changed the situation. You didnt tell us you are referring to a filesystem based product here! And you did not check the URL to your included resource :-) See http://www.zopelabs.com/cookbook/1002248204 You just use a File object instead of ImageFile. HTH Tino Wildenhain

no module datetime (imported in calender.py of zope2.7b3 win binary)
by Elena Schulz 03 Dec '03

03 Dec '03

Hi, trying to install CMFCalender with zope 2.7.b3 on win (installed with the binary) I run into problems: lastpart of a longer traceback: File "L:\Zope\Zope-2.7.0-b3\bin\Lib\calendar.py", line 8, in ? import datetime ImportError: No module named datetime I also could not find any module or string 'datetime' in the whole installation path so I guess it's a bug. The calender.py of my zope 2.6.2 doesn't use datetime. Am I missing something? Any hints are most welcome, Elena
