Development philosophy...

Hi Is it better to have 1 . a single index_html document file at top which calls methods header, footer, content in subfolders for display or 2. multiple documents which only call header and footer and have their content included directly in the file. The difference between the two solutions is that in 1. I have a veeery global document and in 2. I have many, many documents... Referencing object in other folders

I have the following folder structure / (Root folder) --Images (folder) I simply reference images in the images folder by using: <dtml-with Images> <dtml-var myimage> </dtml-with> Isn't there a shorter way to address objects in other folders? I thought of writing a dtml method than can handle all requests for objects in the image folder, but how does one pass the request on for that method. I come from a delphi background so i think in terms of procedure procedurename(var image : timage) begin do something with image; end; Thank you Roché Compaan

Search with "OR"

It seems to me that I can only get ZCatalog to search more than one input field with an "AND". Is there a way to make it to do a search with an "OR"? Kam

WEBDAV clients

Has anybody come across a GUI based WEBDAV client that supports voiewing and updating of properties? So far I've looked at IE5 (which doesn't seem to support properties at all) and WEBDAV Explorer (java app from the University of California) which doesn't appear to support updates to properties. Need help trying to add objects to a Object Manager ZClass

I'm at my wits end with this one. ZClasses are driving me crazy. I want to have an instance of a ZClass for one Confera Topic in it. I subclass Object Manager to do this. I added Confera Topic to the list of allowable subobjects. When I try to add a Confera Topic however it adds it to the parent. In fact it doesn't even do that. This ZClass lives in another ZClass and the Confera Topic is added in the folder above the ZClass heirachy. I'm thinking that it is something to do with permissions but I'm at a loss. Pasting a Topic into an instance works but it just won't add it there. Can anyone help?

HowTo: Implementing robust, automatic navigation bars

Time to contribute something back to the Zope community. Thanks to everyone on the mailing list, I've saved hours putting together a rudimentary navigation system for my site. To save the next poor bastard even more time, I'm putting together a HowTo on zope.org that explains how it's all done: http://www.zope.org/Members/gtk/navbars Some of the code is still a little messy, but I'm fairly sure the basic principles are good. If any of you would like to take a look and send me some tips, critiques or commentary, that'd be much appreciated. Is there an easy way?..

I have a form that has 12 checkboxes on it. On the action URL, I have an in tag, which iterates over the ?list? of checkboxes. Problem is, when one or none are checked, zope complains about the stuff being a string, and refuses to do anything. trying to install zope 2.0.1.on solaris...

Hi, .I have a question.....can u help me...with this well. the problem is I have downloaded zope 2.0.1and tried to install it with my login(on solaris 5.5.1)....then it gave following error... creating default access file Traceback (innermost last): File "inst/binary_install.py", line 151, in ? if __name__=='__main__': main(sys.argv) File "inst/binary_install.py", line 142, in main import zpasswd; zpasswd.write_access(home, user, group) File "/home/zope2.0.1/zpasswd.py", line 125, in write_access acfile=open(ac_path, 'w') IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/home/zope2.0.1/access'.... this obviously is because i forgot to notice that i downloaded it as root.....and i didnot have write permission to the directory to which i downloaded ** then i tried to install it as root and it gave me the following error ............
