A better solution would be to spell your query: select ta.Name as Name, tb.DeptNo as DeptNo, tb.Title as Title, tb.Salary as Salary from tblFacts ta, tblEmployee tb where ta.EmployeeID = tb.EmployeeID order by DeptNo This forces the column names to be what you want them to be. You might also like to try running truss/strace/sctrace (or however AIX spells it) to see whether the Zope process manages to open the appropriate client libraries and sybase config file (particularly $SYBASE/interfaces). Hopefully Andrew Kuchling is reading this... he gave a presentation at the recent DC PIGies meeting about this, and basically said it might be CALLED XML, but it's neither legal nor well-formed. He had a horrendous time parsing it, and when talking with people found out that nobody had tried to parse it with a real XML parser, just regexes... ick, what's the point? Zope and ZSybaseDA problem

I have a problem getting ZSybaseDA to work : any connection is rejected with the following error : Error Type: SybaseError Error Value: ['failed to connect to server', ('client', 5, 84083972, 'ct_connect(): network packet layer: internal net library error: Net-Lib protocol driver call to connect two endpoints failed', 0, 'Socket connect failed - errno 0', 0, '08001')] The problem appears when : -- opening the database connection with Zope manager screen -- executing a minimal external method which uses ctsybase module: sybtest.py: import ctsybase def OpenSybase(self): c=ctsybase.ctsybase({'user':'user','password':'password', 'server':'server'}) res=c.execute('select * from table') c.close() return `res` if __name__=="__main__": print OpenSybase(None) But *not* when : -- executing that same method directly from python -- executing it from Zope via an external method which does a popen of that script -- executing a popen of one of the sybase ct-lib samples (getsend) So, it seems the ctsybase module works ok, except when activated from Zope... strange "in" behavior

Hi all, I have an "in" code fragment like this:  ....  Now "result" contains 6 rows: If ROWS >=4, I always get all 6 rows on a single page. If ROWS<=3, I get correct number of rows on the first page. However, suppose ROWS=2, I click "Next 2 results" and the second page gives me 4. Any idea? I'm using ZOPE2.0.1 and ZODBCDA3.1b2 on Win98 TIA CS

How do I index a calcuted property of a ZClass instance?

I created a DTML method called "raw" that gave text to be indexed of a ZClass. It combined several fields togeather. When I update the cataloged items those instances are not being indexed on this method. Anyone know how to do this?
