Hello all! Is anyone working on a product that resembles a trouble ticket tracking system for a help desk? I have a friend who needs something that is web based and tied to an SQL database. If someone has already started on something, I would love to see what they have. Clarence

I want to have all my images in a subfolder. Locks?

I've got a situation where I'd like to be able to have a mutex lock. Unfortunately, I can't use Lock objects out of the thread module as they appear to be unpicklable. Zope and security.

For a couple weeks now I've been wondering about Zope's security vulnerabilities. Recently I've gotten rather alarmed. While poking around the zGold site, I've come across some rather surprising things. In particular, access to the SQL database doesn't seem to be controlled at all... I was able to snag clear text passwords rather easily. (I hope no one is using an important password for that site... surprisingly only three users have 'password'. :) Presumably this is a server configuration issue, as Zope.org doesn't have the obvious hole that zGold does. So, my question is, does there exist a laundry list of common Zope misconfigurations? Does there need to be one (Zope.org tips)? The solution is rather obvious (settings on the security tab for the folder) but how do new users know to catch that kind of thing? -Otto.

Another little question

Does a variable exist which says in what level of folders i am in? cookie question

It isn't very clear, from the dtml documentation, just how to use the SetCookie function. I can see how to set a name value pair, but not how to set the other attributes of the cookie (expiry, secure, etc...). Someone out there must have figured it out, but nothing turns up when I search on Cookie on the members pages, either. --sam

Thanks to some great feedback from the Zope community, I'm pleased to announce Site Summary 1.2.1 http://www.zope.org/Members/edmundd/SiteSummary Site Summary allows you to create RSS 0.91 channel files suitable for my.netscape.com and others. You can also import RSS files from other sources (e.g. freshmeat.net) allowing you to present this content on your own site. Changes for this release: Version 1.2.1 * import now removes previous site entries * items now named more sensibly on import * added "Contents" tab which allows normal folderish operations.
