Hi! While hacking load_site.py for my needs I transformed it to a program to traverse object tree. Setting SERVER_NAME for ZServer

How do I set the internal server name for ZServer? ZCatalog'ing a Web Site

Well, I finally recreated the SiteIndex object + ExternalMethods that reproduces the web page: http://www.zope.org/SiteIndex/newitems.html and it suddenly dawned on me -- such an index is only as up to date as the last time a reindex was done manually, since many of Zope's basic objects are not ZCatalogAware (methods, docs..). So how is the zope.org site managed? Do you run a cron job nightly to reindex the entire site? That'd be quite a load especially on any site with gbytes of objects. Hmm... -Jeff Rush

Exporting Versions

Hello! While upgrading to 2.1b from 2.0.1, I found that version information was lost. I exported my work folders, shutdown old Zope, start 2.1b, imported .zexp files... and all my objects look as if there is no versions at all (although Version objects are there). I tried reexport objects after joining to a version, but without any luck - generated .zexp files are bit-to-bit exactly the same. Is it known problem? or may be it is feature (I cannot believe)? As I recall, you should be able to reproduce this by trying to access two password- protected resources on different ports on the same server using only Apache (taking Zope totally out of the picture). I don't know if this is considered a "known bug" by the NS folks or not - they may have some kind of bug reporting system online that you could check. You must have Oracle client libraries installed locally to compile and use DCOracle. Is the source code for the NT ODBC Driver available. I would like to know how much work it would take to use Unix port to use openlink or the freely available ODBC drivers. Wierd bug continued

On a clean install of 2.1.0b1 and PythonMethod 0.1.5, rename stopped working.
