Really wierd bug - installing PythonMethod disables rename???

This afternoon rename suddenly stopped working. I eventually narrowed it down to PythonMethod - when PythonMethod 0.1.5 is installed rename doesn't work and gives a: "You must select a item to rename" Copy, Delete, etc. work fine. This is Zope 2.1.0b1. Can't Change Password......

This may or may not be a problem, you could use CVS to manage PHP files, whereas in Zope the versioning and undo feature is superb. Zope is fast enough. The database connectivity in Zope is easier than PHP (and more transparent, ie replace MySQL with Oracle), PHP wants too much handholding to get a DB query done. I'm leaning towards the idea that Zope is a very good system for distributed authoring *and management!* of materials, something that PHP would find much more difficult to do (it's based on the model of serving a file from a filesystem, whereas Zope serves objects, and an object can be a complex beastie). This is a simple caching object, for caching expensive methods. Any comments are welcome. *** Due to my lack of knowledge in Zope, you can only cache methods that are in the same folder as the ZCache object. To cache method index_html that is in the same folder, just type in "index_html" as the method to cache in the Add form. *** The delay property sets the minimum time between updates of the cache, in seconds. The cache will reload the method named in cacheObject property if you access the cache more than delay seconds since the cache was last updated. You can use the update method to force an update of the cache. Get it at: http://www.zope.org/Members/itamar/ZCache -------- Some benchmarks using http_load on an expensive method (render structured text. newline_to_br, then _.string.replace). http_load ran for 10 seconds, 50 requests a second, on the same machine as Zope. The cache was set to a delay of 60 seconds. The output of the cache seems to be the same as the method, yet the byte count is different. I'm not sure why. dtml-if syntax and comparing variables

I have a method in my root folder that draws a top navigation bar by looping through the subfolders. I don't want to publish links to all the subfolders however and prevent subfolders from being listed by checking if a folder has a property called "index_me". I also don't want to make a link active if am currently in that folder. I have a few questions after battling with syntax for about 3 hours: 1.What is the simplest way to do what i've done? I have not read your first message but if you are using NT as the hosting platform, then the ODBC interface works fine. If you do not have an ODBC driver for INFORMIX you can download it for free from www.intraware.com <http://www.intraware.com> it is contained in the client SDK from INFORMIX. If you are hosting on Linux, the CLI interface of the LINUX INFORMIX SDK also available from www.intraware.com <http://www.intraware.com> may be able to be compiled with the Zope supplied ODBC interface. I have looked at this and it seems possible but have not had the time to do it yet.
