Hi, David thank you for the tip. But that doesn't work either. If I only set "Access Contents Information" I get rejected by Zope although GUF authenticated me. If I set "View" and "Access..." permissions I can access the index_html in the folder without any authentication. Problem with new Sybase DA

Hello everyone, I just got the new DA for Sybase 11.9.2 and installed it without any errors (I even imported the module into python successfully). Now when I try to run ./start, I hear some activity from the hard drive but the prompt returns and nothing is started. Anytime I delete the file sy_occ.so from the product directory, Zope starts just fine. This is what I have: SuSE Linux 6.2 Python 1.5.2 Zope 2.01 Sybase DAv2 Any help will be greatly appreciated.

hi, i'm a newbee to Zope . i'd like to know what purposes can a Z Class serve ? i've also been working on maintaining state ie session for a visitor. how do i go about doing something like, displaying to a visitor the number of times he has visited a particular page. please help.... bye, winston

Update on Roxen/Zope Integration

Well, after fighting with it for a while, I now have a much improved HOWTO on how to integrate Roxen and Zope. The Big change is in the rewrite rules. They are much easier (IMO) to maintain. Zope/Roxen integration

People wanting to play with Zope and Roxen will need to do something to the Roxen src code to get Zope CGIs to work correctly; it's detailed below (sorry, not enough time to write up a HowTo just yet!). After banging my head against a wall for a while I've munged together a fix. Get into cgi.pike in modules/scripting and do this (around line 495); sorry, I'm no good with 'diff'! case "location": code = "302 Redirection"; result += header+": "+value+"\r\n"; break; ++added++ case "content-length": break; ++added++ default: result += header+": "+value+"\r\n"; break; Yes, this is a hack and an awful one, but it works. Along with using the Redirect module (which is a pain!), I now have a Zope backend, Roxen frontend that uses real URLs (ie no Zope.cgi stuff in it). I really find it weird that noone else has noticed this behaviour in using CGI scripts and Roxen. ZCatalog uses subtransactions, which are temporary miniature 'commits' to the ZODB so that memory doesn't grow beyond physical limits when changing lots and lots of objects in one transaction. When a subtransaction is commited, it allows the ZODB to move those 'sub-commited' objects to a temporary file if memory gets tight. This temporary file is probably filling up your /tmp filesystem. The solution is to set your commit threshold much higher, ie, commit sub-transactions less frequently. -Michel

If I do a <dtml-var DestinationURL>, It prints "http://desktop:8080" However, if I say <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect(DestinationURL)">, I wind up at http://desktop:8080/manage_addProduct/AMDAMethod/MethodClass_factory/%3cPyt…, which doesn't exist. Why?
