ZCatalog: sorting on TextIndexed fields?

Hi, I noticed that ZCatalog features a "sort-on" parameter, allowing you to sort using a given index. It looks like this only works for FieldIndexes and not TextIndexes, is that correct? I was specifically thinking of sorting on title (which seems like a common thing to do), but title is, appropriately enough, a TextIndex... Kevin

What's the preferred way to change a property. Eg say I have a property count and I want to increment this each time the object is viewed. I've tried various constructs like <dtml-call count="count+1"> ....</dtml-let>, but the count always goes back to the original value. -- Robin Becker

Newbie Alert ! Sorry for my stupid questions but I am stuck on the basic things and I have read the documents many times. #1. The default standard_html_footer has this inside <p></p> Where is ZopeAttributionButton defined ? I can not find the image object anywhere. Also, where is the variable URL1 defined in the default index_html ? Sorry, I know these are stupid questions and not very important. #2. I want to put all of my images in a folder called "images". If I read the documents right, I can access the contents of a folder using <dtml-with foldername> <dthml-var imagename> </dtml-with> But that is not working. If I place that code inside the root index_html after the standard_html_header then view the page, I get a "save as" popup as if the content type is wrong ! Also, how would I access the contents of subfolders of subfolders ? <dtml-with foldername/subfolder> or <dtml-with foldername.subfolder> ? #3. I wanted to use Zope with MSIIS on NT. The installation instructions for windows say that choosing to install as a service will let me specify the scripts folder of my web server. This did not happen. And there is no zope.cgi created either ! Did this change in version 2 ? #4. Before I try to install Zope on my Solaris workstation, I need to know whether uninstallation will involve simply deleting the folder ? #5. How do you add Javascript events to images ? For example, for rollovers ? #6. How are people arranging their folders ? It looks like the base folder will be just too full of common elements for the website. For example, if my navigation tree is like this + Products + Catalog + Promotions + Services + Support + Helpdesk + OurCompany + CommonElements + Images + DatabaseConnectors I understand that a dtml document or dtml method can use objects in higher directories. For example, a dtml document in Products/Catalog can use a dtml method inside Products But just say I wanted to use an image within CommonElements/Images within a dtml document in Support/Helpdesk (or anywhere in the site), is that possible ? Similarly for Database connectors. I don't want to pollute the root folder with all of the images, methods and database connectors that are common to all pages. Sorry for so many questions. I really have read the documents many many times but can not work this out. When will ODBC be available for Zope2?

All the zope work I'm doing relies heavily on Access databases. Until the ODBC connector gets upgraded I am can't really explore the wounderful new world of ZClasses, ZCatalogs etc. Anyone have a date for me?

Hi, I'm new to Zope, so please forgive if this is a stupid question. What I am trying to do is the following: I have a site with an embedded SquishDot Folder called 'News'. This folder is linked to the main page. Now I want to get links to the headlines of the most recent News-entries embedded in the index_html document of the main page. I tried to create a DTML-method in the 'News' folder, which returns links to the articles. If I call this method inside the News folder I get what I want. BUT, how do call this method from the parent folder? I tried , which gives me a 'KeyError' on 'headlines'. The 'in' tag expects a list. If you want to get a list that contains the objects in a Folder, you could do something like this:    ....your code here    The DTML guide talks about this in more detail... Hi, I try to use Zope. After reading the documentation, I don't understand how to use the tag 'in'. Here is the problem: The variable 'adr' is initialise to 'Donnees/Lab' (a folder)  return the message 'Strings are not allowed as input to the in tag.'  return the message 'Type error : hasattr, argument 2: expected string, int found' Can you help me ? Thank you.

This won't work the way you're doing it... there are two options... 1. If you have a column in your table that is either a string,integer,or float, that unique identifies the row, then you can use the id attribute on the tree tag that allows you to specify an attribute of the object to use as unique ID of the tree element. (this should be a primary key type column). <dtml-tree foo id=columnA> 2. Otherwise, you'll need a pluggable brain that provides such an attribute. dtml-method problem

in my effort to create a general forms-product I am making progress. Unauthorized You are not authorized to access veran_id where veran_id is a columname of the table I am accessing. Is this a bug ?
