pcgi info file error

I am getting this error (displayed in page source of the page I'm hosting): Error parsing pcgi info file pcgi-wrapper-version 2.0a5 I'm running Zope 2.0B1 on RH6 with Apache 1.3.6. I've added the rewrite rules to httpd.cong, Zope is running, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. how to ZODB 2 when using pcgi w/Zope2.0.0b3 ?

Hi (and !help), I've just set up Zope2.0.b3 with pcgi and Apache1.3.6. It works great but I've just learned that the Oracle thingy only works with ZODB 2, not 3. I was using the '-2' option to z2.py before I had set up pcgi and that worked great. How do I get this effect now? Is there something I can set in Zope.cgi? I saw from a previous post that I could probably set up ZServer to get instantiated by pcgi, instead of pcgi_publisher. Reading through the docs made me think there might be a performance penalty to pay, tho. thanks! -reed

Answering to myself, if you have Redhat 6.0 with the bundled apache 1.3.6, install the zope rpm and add the following in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: RewriteEngine on RewriteLog /var/log/httpd/rewrite.log RewriteLogLevel 0 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} ^/(.*) RewriteRule ^/(.*) /home/httpd/$1 [t=application/x-httpd-cgi] RewriteCond %{HTTP:Authorization} ^(.+) RewriteRule ^/(.*) /$1 [ENV=HTTP_CGI_AUTHORIZATION:%1] The rewrite rules were taken from a message posted by Andy Dustman on this list, I've removed the first RewriteCond/Rewrite rule pair, and fixed a little the path. Now I tried to set it up on a production server, but its apache is custom-compiled so doesn't work. The funny thing is, the rewrite.log file is not loggin a thing. accessing objects inside folders

Sorry for this newbe question, but I just can't figure it: I have a basic squishdot product setup at /news with a method named shownews. How can I call it from the main index_html? If i do  I get the DTML code not rendered. I've tried using  and nothing happens... Another FreeBSD thing to beware of: I've done this with FreeBSD 3.1 Stable and "./configure --with-threads" is the correct answer to this problem, but you may also be missing certain python modules (e.g. sha module) if you installed python from the ports collection. Boosting Zope Performance

What's the best way of boosting the performance of a Zope site? In my PHP3 days, we used to have 16 or so httpd processes running (each with an embedded PHP3 interpreter) and things were pretty ok. I have Zope 2.0b1 running with just two processes. Is there any mileage in upping this number to something like 16 or so? as RAM is not a problem for us (our MySQL daemon is running at about 80-90 Megs). Should I rewrite as many DTML methods as External Methods? Should I rewrite DTML methods that access the database to do more complex queries? Am I missing out on something daft - like have I neglected a switch that has kept (surmised) debugging code on? I use MySQL a hell of a lot - is the fact that it is not multi-threaded a problem too? Obviously the Zope site is doing a lot more work than a static server configuration, including many MySQL queries to several different databases and an awful lot of DTML and External Methods. I'm using the Zope 2.0b1 binary release on an Enterprise 450 under Solaris5.6 with half a gig of RAM and 4 processors - it's a fast box. The problem is that I don't think that the performance I've seen so far will be acceptable once we let 60-80 students loose on the system. thanks for any thoughts on the matter. Tone.

Empty List Object

hi all, does anyone know how to check if a list object is empty. Using the following code i am getting an error, any thoughts: [FORM SIDE OF CODE] <TD><INPUT TYPE="checkbox" NAME="delete:list" VALUE=""></TD> [FORM PROCESSING SIDE]    Sorry, no deletions  So, what am i doing wrong?
