Hi: I've installed the zope rpm on my redhat 6.0, when I try to access the manage page I get the following: =================== You are not authorized to access this resource. I have just updated from beta 1 to beta 3 and I am finding the same thing with ODBC. Access to objects hier up in the tree (parents)

How can I access parent objects (and their methods), preferrably starting at some toplevel folder? E.g. my DTML Method lives in /1/1.1/1.1.1/obj from obj I need to call, or access, or whatever, some SQL-Query that's in /1/1.2/sql_meth 1 |_1.1 | |_1.1.1 | |_obj |_1.2 |_sql_meth I think it must be done with namespaces but I don't get it. Additionally I would like to avoid relative addressing (such as ../../../../ ) but rather start at the top level. -- Heiko Stoermer Media Intelligence Group Augsburg, Germany

No Database-connection with Z SQL Methode

Hello, i use zope2.0b3 with MySQL as Database. The ZMySQLDatabase-Adabter works fine. Now i want include a SQL-Query with Z SQL-Methode. But if i do this, Z SQL-Methode give the error-msg : " no database connection found. please connect ... " Is this a problem of the beta3, how can i debug the problem ? regards A.Spanke

sort=expr

Hello, hope you're all well, I want to do this:  I think I do anyway. The value of the property sort_order is a string that is the id of yet another property, and I want to pass that id as the #in "sort" parameter. The code above doesn't work of course. How can I pass the result of an expr as a parameter? Is it just correct syntax that I'm lacking? Cheers, Josh

Server crash when accesed by KFM (KDE) in manage mode

Server RedHat 6.0 i386 on a Pentium, 64 Mb machine Zope latest stable release 1.10. 3 Performs fine when accessed by Netscape but server crashes when tried to access Zope with KFM (KDE browser) in manage mode. Had to ./stop and ./start again the server. I'm not saying that KFM is complete and it should work with it but I think that the server should not crash even accessed by an incomplete developed browser. DB & SQL Method error

I just connected a db to Zope 2.0.0b3. After I created the conenction, I tried to add an Z SQL Method. It told me I could not create one, since I do not have a SQL DB connection. Hi all, I saw the announcements recently about support for XML documents in Zope. This is a Very Good Thing. Can some kind person give me a brief overview of the process of getting XML elements into HTML via DTML templates? Are the XML elements treated just like any other Zope data source and placed in a folder, or is there more to it? TIA, Stu

Catching external links - Ideas ?

Hi ! I am pretty new to Zope and I am looking for a way to allow content authors to link to external sites through a logging redirector. I would like to save those people from typing the redirector-URL and having to URL-escape some characters. What I want to provide the content writers with is something like:  and get <A HREF="/redirect?http%3a%2f%2fsome.where%3fquery%2520string%23name" onMouseOver="...">Look, there !</A> If you have an idea on how to achieve this with Zope builtins or on the best way to implement it, please give me a hint.
