Problems with icons in ZClass instance (Q1959)

Hi, I tried to create CD instances as described in the ZClasses tutorial. In the Basic view of '/Control_Panel/Products/CDProduct/CDClass' I selected an image file from my computer by clicking the Browse button. The icon looks perfect. However when i try to create an instance of my ZClass in the root folder, all it's ok except it diplays a completly different logo. What's wrong?

Error compiling ZMySQLDA with Zope 2.0

Hi. I know the ZMySQLDA doesn't fully support parts of Zope 2.0, but I haven't seen anything claiming that I can't compile it with the new version. Below is what I get after unpacking the DA to the Zope lib directory and following the directions for the first make instruction. checking for existing/nonexisting properties and objects?

Consider the following dtml code fragment: <dtml-in "objectValues(['Image'])"> <img src="<dtml-var id>"> <dtml-if "caption"> <caption><dtml-var caption></caption> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> I use it to loop over all images in a folder, displaying the image and its caption if such a property exists. This snippet fails if the image doesn't have a "caption" property. I've been working around this by adding an empty caption further up the tree but I'd like to avoid this if possible. On a related note, I have tried to write dtml to render an image only if the named object exists without success. Thank you, Kevin, for your idea. I wanted to do the same thing, and your idea worked wonderfully because of the transaction stuff that Mike explained. I noticed, however, that using REQUEST.set, then passing REQUEST to manage_changeProperties has a very nasty side effect: All of the properties of the object may be changed, not just newid. For example, if REQUEST happens to contain {"title": "new title"}, then your folder gets its title changed. If this happes, one thread wins and one thread looses. The looser's transaction is completely aborted, and the loosers request is resubmitted in a whole new transaction. You need to set the permissions on the <zopedir>/var directory so that the user nobody has write access to it. Missing DTML tags?

Idea, not a question, this time... ;-) Are there, or should there be, DTML tags/methods that ease the insertion of things like input boxes, selection lists, submit buttons, and the like? Something along the lines of the XML DOM for HTML, but easier to use... :-) I've got a basic one for Java; would this be a useful thing to port to Python/ZOPE? Regards, -scott anderson

Fiends of Zope, After installing the source code for Zope 2.0. I try to run the start sript ./Zope/start and I get the error /var/Z2.py permission denied! This file does not exist in this directory. What is rwrong?

does Win ZServer need TCP/IP?

Hello Is TCP/IP needed to use ZServer for only "local" hosting? Is there another meathod (i.e. Java script) that a local host server can access zope pages? I tried to run ZServer with from a fresh Zope 2.0.0 installation on my Win95 machine.
