Unless you can teach a computer to read and understand context and applicability of words, I don't see how it can be automated. It might make sense to have a user interface where the manager can 'ask' the catalog if a word will be stopped or not, and be given the option to add or remove the question from the catalog, ala: Manager: Is 'Many' a stop word? Catalog: Yes, would you like to remove Many as a stopword? Manger: Yes. Is 'antidisestablishtarianism' a stopword? Catalog: No, would you like me to add it as a stopword? SQL insert help?

Hi all, What is the preferred method for inserting data into a database? Currently, I'm using a SQL Method that executes a stored procedure, mainly because I'm using an identity column and I want to return the new column ID. Thanks in advance, -scott anderson

Q: var-tag attribute html_quote

Hello Zopistas, the var-tag attribute html_quote converts only a few special characters in html-entities. How can I convert the German umlauts ( ä --> ä ö -->ö etc) ? Is there a patch for this converting problem ? Markus Koelle

Standard Error Message?!?

Help, I am running Zope2, and using Zope securityon certain areas of my site. My problem is, after 3 unsuccessfull login attempts, Zope display the ugly error message :- How / Where do I customise this? Please Help, Michael. I just spent a few hours being tortured trying to find out why a guy in the Datbase of 10,000 whose name is 'Max Many', doesn't come up on a last name search, and guess what, the Catalog doesn't index his last name. The word 'many'. Suprize! This is the third gotcha word we've expericened (don't try to find C/C++ in a document) and it's makes people doubt the software. (I explain about the size of indexes and such, and I understand it, but every surprise word you can't find is another step backward.) You might publish a list of words you'll never find in the Catalog. Just in case one of them happens to be a very big part of someone's business. For other kinds of objects the ZODB takes pains to keep frequently used objects in memory. Objects are retired after they've been untouched for some time. Something odd about ZCatalog...

Hello folks, I'm just reporting some general weirdness with ZCatalog. I'm sure by now almost everyone has tried the CD class and catalog, right? Okay, I just so happen to have a CD titled "For You For Me". ZCatalog did not like it. Searching finds no entry with that data. I tried "Dare to Dream" and it works on words "dare" and "dream"...but not "to". (Yes, in all cases they are strings - textindex) So I thought...maybe it's the title - some strange restriction...I tried in other fields (eg. artist) and still...nada. I have found that ZCatalog does not like the words: for, you, me, to. Why? Are these somehow special words? Searching for these words fail everytime. Also, ZCatalog-aware does not seem to update the catalog properly. A manual "update catalog" is still needed. Has anyone else encountered these problems? I tried other classes (non CD) and I get the same weirdness...ZCatalog cannot search for those words above. (there might well be more "phantom" words about...) Could it be that ZCatalog considers words of less than 4 letters..."non words"? -- ----------------------------------------- Kuraiken - Python fanatic. ----------------------------------------- Python. Note that "administrator for this machine" may be a little vague - it is possible to make someone basically a local administrator but not give them quite all of the rights of a domain admin. In particular, check to be sure that you have been granted rights to change the registry and to create services on the local machine...
