AUTHENTICATED_USER and external methods

Hi, I've got an external method that creates an HTML page from a large number of SQL queries. I call it like so; <a href="supercascade?tag_id=11>Overview of Module</a>. I want to have the benefits of standard_html_header and standard_html_footer in my documents too, so I've got this in the code... template_str = self.standard_html_header.read_raw() template = DocumentTemplate.HTML(template_str) html = template(self) ... lots of wondrous stuff with databases that add to 'html' template_str = self.standard_html_footer.read_raw() template = DocumentTemplate.HTML(template_str) return html + template(self) Now this works ok - standard_html_header can *get at* dtml variables in it, such as 'title' and 'id'. Problems arise if I want to get to AUTHENTICATED_USER, as adding this User:<dtml-var "AUTHENTICATED_USER.getUserName()"> Results in the header *being rendered* with the correct user, but the page gives  with the following traceback...  line 201 is this line in the code html = template(self) baffled... direct traversal and pluggable brains...

Hello, I have a simple sqlmethod mixin class for testing purposes... class SimpleMixin: def something(self): return someother + "_this_is_someting_" If I disable direct traversal, everthing works fine (<dtml-var something>) is displayed. John, Michel is very estute as always. :^) I use the Calendar tag to sort through 22,000 possibilities, and it's sub-second (Michel's Catalog rocks with indexes) The trick is to create a field_index on the date property, and any other property that you'll be qualifying the data to be shown, and then narrow it down by meta_type (ZClasses work well here). If I don't index it's a dog. If I dont't narrow it down by "Calendar" relevant meta_types but still index it, it's less of a dog, but not instant like I'll bet you're looking for. Hi, we want to build dynamic pages from a database (in our test lab is MS- Access via ODBC) table with a BINARY field (say imgfld) filled with image in raw (binary not OLE!) (JPEG/GIF, ecc) and other fields. (As for example may be an "employees card list" where we need to show peoples portrait and a table row describe all the information for a person included his/her photo.) The code we try was (suppose getTable1 as method to list all fileds in table) 'listCards': ....  Name:  Address:  .... <img src=""> .... <!--#/in> .... but this is wrong because the 'src' attribute of the 'img' HTML tag want the addres of the image not the image directly! So we have the right image (the object imgFld) but we can't use it! We need a way to get the "HTTP address" of the image object (that named 'imgFld' in this name space) in current tuple returned from getTable1 method when rendering the DTML tags in 'listCards'. Any suggest? Suppressing <BASE> tag

Hi, Zope does not seem to want to accept defeat here. As people suggested, I created a rewrite rule such that a certain virtual host name goes to the Zope installation under the path /ACLUG. However, Zope insists on adding the /ACLUG directory name to base. This is bad. Further, I don't want any base tag at all. I tried setBase with an empty string, but it insisted on adding a slash. Why can this not be disabled? What can I do? How to 'add' a ZClass in DTML..

For a document I can do: <dtml-call "manage_addDocument(blah, blah, blah)"> now, if I have a ZClass called STOCKProduct (meta STOCK) how can I make one in DTML? It's beyond my meagre knowledge :( Also, how to I 'initialise' properties programatically on creation of a ZClass? DTML and Acrobat Forms

Hi, I have had Zope running on my Win95 machine for about a week and starting to come to grips with the Zen of Zope, but still a long way to go. It is an excellent product. Has anyone gone down the path before of integrating Adobe Forms with Zope in DTML? I had a few go's but not too much luck. For Win32's, Adobe supplies an ActiveX.dll which can parse Adobe Forms files (.FDF). There is even a Perl module from Adobe around which will work with the ActiveX. The problem is that Adobe Forms implement two types of POST to the server: a)application/x-www-form-urlencoded or b)posts the FDF file directly to server I am trying to implement (b) in Zope. My first hurdle is figuring out how to implement the equivalent of the following Perl snippet in DTML: binmode STDIN; read STDIN, $buf, $ENV{'CONTENT_LENGTH'}; $inFdf = Acrobat::FDF::NewFromBuf($buf); # Read the FDF POSTed from the client Next, get the ActiveX to work with Zope.
