Zope and FastCGI

I've been trying to get Zope to work with roxen and FastCGI. No luck. I was wondering if anyone else has tried this. Anyone succeed? To answer the original poster:: <dtml-if "_[ 'sequence-index' ] % 4 == 0"> </tr><tr> </dtml-if> should do fine. And to emulate Cato, Agnosciti invalidi delendi est ("Invalid identifiers must be destroyed"). I _hate_ the "sequence-foo" pseudo-identifiers in DTML, worse than any other feature of Zope. Acquisition of properties?

Given the following folder tree: / XXX YYY Where XXX and YYY both contain property sheets with properties defined, the "YYY" folder contains a "discuss" DTML method, and the "XXX" folder is a PortalFolder and contains a "test" DTML Method that reads something like: <dtml-var standard_html_header> <dtml-with YYY> <dtml-var "discuss()"> </dtml-with> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> Why, when viewing "WWW/test", can't the "discuss" method find the properties defined on YYY? standard_error_message behavior

Why is standard_error_message called only sometimes? I've overridden standard_error_message on my site to print "Mysterious Error has Occurrred" and email me. It works when I call one of my DTML methods that requires parameters without parameters, i.e. http://www.centralchurchyouth.org:8100/search? invokes standard_error_message OK because the keywords parameter is not specified However, on a simple notFoundError, standard_error_message isn't invoked, i.e. http;//www.centralchurchyouth.org:8100/page_that_does_not_exist shows a standard Zope error screen. Is this supposed to be this way? If not, how can I make my standard_error_message be used in all situations? -- Stephen Pitts smpitts(a)midsouth.rr.com

Hi again, I have confirmed your cases. And frankly I think it's a bug inside ZCatalog, but nothing to worry about. I think they are letting the sort feature out of ZCatalog now. So, instead of using sort_on inside the Catalog call, you simply use the sort feature of the <dtml-in ...> tag. Before we get too hot under the collar about all this, let's step back a second and relax. There's no deliberate sowing of confusion going on here. People aren't deliberately posting bogus data as truth, or misrepresenting themselves as the fount of all Zope wisdom. So sometimes people post things that aren't correct, or are even blatantly false. Big Deal. The main thing they've revealed is that they don't understand something (like there aren't plenty of things we don't fully understand ourselves). People try and help other people. This is a Good Thing, is something to be lauded, and something to be encouraged. A problem however is that much of the time our knowledge is incompleat and the answers we give, are, well, incompleat. Worse, sometimes we jsut don't know enough, or in enough detail to realise that our answers are incompleat or even flat out wrong. So, being well intentioned and even earnest, we get corrected, and learn, and hopefully next time give better and more compleat answers. This isn't even something unique to Zope. I've seen the exact same process and mechanics going in in every technical forum I've been in, even if the subject is well defined, well documented, well explored and more than 100 years old. People are generally well intentioned, try to do the "right thing" and to help where they can. Sometimes their help is misguided. Whoopee. Give them a chance to re-educate and do better next time. Calling constructor from another product??

Hi Zopistas out there. How can I call a ZClass-constructor in Product FOO from Product BAR? Here is an outline: Product FOO class XY XY_add . . . Product BAR class A . . . Now my class a prints out a link to /FOO/XY_add to allow users to add new instances of XY. But everytime I get a cant-locate-object error. Is my Link false (I tried several other things aswell) or do I have to set any permissions?
