ZopeFind() problem

Hi All! I have a structure(directory) of Categories and links based on the product Zlink and populated with a dump from dmoz. I made an external method using the OFS.FindSupport's function "ZopeFind()" to find Pending Links,i.e, links that have a property with value "off". The script worked okay. Basically I'm doing the same thing the "Find Items to This Catalog" in ZCatalog product do. I search for the objects and instead of catalog I show them to the user. The problema is that now the script is no longer finding the links that are in subdirectories but only on Top ZLinkFolder. I thought something was wrong with my script but then went to a Catalog to use the "Find items to ZCatalog" and the result was the same, didnt found objects in subdirectories, with the mentioned property==off that I put in the obj_expr argument. I have installed another instance of Zope and export/import the structure and the product I'm using into this new zope, and voilá it works!! But on my original site dont work. The only thing I did was a pack to the database. Can that delete some information needed for the ZopeFind()? Any help? indexing to catalog from external method ?!

hi My Python skills are still not to good, but i am slowly learning.. I am adding DTML-documents from a filesystem to the ZODB by the means of an external method (a modified fsimport.py), but the documents do not get indexed in my catalog.. reindex-object would work inside DTML, but if i understand things right aqquisition doesn't work in external methods, so the catalog wouldn't know the path to the object.. is this right ? how do i get the documents indexed ?? thanks -- Geir B Hansen web-developer/designer geirh(a)funcom.com http://www.funcom.com

Gadfly databases syntax

Hi, I'm using a Gadfly database connection to create Z SQL Methods. This is the first time that I'm using this, and because I know a little of SQL, it seams that are some differences between Ansy SQL and Z SQL. Now, I'm trying to create a table with the following code: CREATE TABLE registos( id INT, nome VARCHAR(10), apelido VARCHAR(10), morada VARCHAR(50), localidade VARCHAR(30), casa INT, telemovel INT, data_nasc VARCHAR(10) ) When I push the button "Change and Test", it shows a message "The query requires no input". Then after I push the "Submit Query" button, it gives me a Syntax Error, so I figure that only could be the syntax that this SQL use is differente from the normal SQL. Could anyone tell me the diffrences and/or tell me where I can go to see the differences? I've got those ZCatalog sort_on blues ...

It's getting late, the concrete wall beside me, formerly white, is now stained with the mushy red-purple pulp of my brain. I've invoked every diety I can think of and, on behalf of Canadians everywhere, apologized on usenet for both William Shatner and Bryan Adams, but to no avail ... Some of my ZCatalog searches are not working with the sort_on keyword. Consider: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('semlist', seminarCatalog(Date=ZopeTime(),Date_usage='range:min',sort_on='Date'))"> and <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('publist', publicationCatalog(Authors='Kivshar',sort_on='Year'))"> The first works, the second only returns entries if I remove the sort_on='Year' parameter. So what about this second case: 1) entries exist because I get them if I remove the sort_on. 2) Year is a valid index (integer type) and meta_table entry. I am pretty sure it is a FieldIndex because I create it programatically: <dtml-with "publicationCatalog"> <dtml-call "manage_addIndex('Year','FieldIndex',REQUEST,RESPONSE,URL1)"> </dtml-with> Right now much of my site is buggered because I can't sort the results of catalog searches. Uploading file and transaction error?

Hi all, I have an uploading section on may intranet site (no ZCLASS), where people are able to upload files from their local pcs, setting properties for the files and selecting a subfolder (or creating a new one), where the file will be stored. Now I get from time to time an attribute error and I have no clue, why and what I should do to prevent this. Zope ZODB console error message interpretation

I'm getting the following messages appearing with some regularity now that I'm running zope 2.1.4 using the -D switch ------ 2000-02-23T09:08:03 ERROR(200) ZODB Couldn't load state for '\000\000\000\000\000\000\036M' ------ 2000-02-23T09:08:03 ERROR(200) ZODB Couldn't load state for '\000\000\000\000\000\0006K' ------ 2000-02-23T09:08:23 ERROR(200) ZODB Couldn't load state for '\000\000\000\000\000\000\036M' ------ 2000-02-23T09:08:23 ERROR(200) ZODB Couldn't load state for '\000\000\000\000\000\0006K' Packed database - no change. Messages appear when zope is asked to do something after a period of inactivity - presumably something's been flushed from the cache and is causing problems when reloaded. Any suggestions as to how to locate and remove the offending objects ?

The Misc object is a special object for storing things like the actual data for product icons. Using context.registerClass automates the process of storing an icon in the misc_ structure (containing Misc objects), and having your class.icon URL attribute pointing at the URL for that icon. Doing so makes it easier for your product to have an icon, and you don't have to worry about setting the icon attribute correctly. Just leave out the icon attribute of you class, and pass in the (relative) path to your icon. See, for example, lib/python/Products/ZCatalog/__init__.py. You will only want to mess with the icon attribute when you want to dynamically change the icon of your class.
