How do I use dtml-with on the folder it is in? I have a folder with several documents in it, say like this: folderName DocumentA DocumentB and I want to display a summary of documents when the user visits folderName by putting this in folderName's index_html: <dtml-with self> <b><a href="<dtml-var id>"><dtml-var title</a></b> </dtml-with>

Trouble with forms

Greetings, I've got a form that has three fields. One for year, one for day, and one for month. The selection parts of the form are similar to the following: <select name="date_mm"> <option value="01">January <option value="02">February <option value="03">March <option value="04">April <option value="05">May <option value="06">June <option value="07">July <option value="08">August <option value="09">September <option value="10">October <option value="11">November <option value="12">December </select> What I'm trying to do is pull the 'date_mm' (along with the other two fields, 'date_yy' and 'date_dd') into the namespace area so I can do something like: <input type="hidden" name="event.date" value= \ "<dtml-var var_yy>-<dtml-var var-mm>-<dtml-var var-dd>"> I would expect that I can use something like: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('var_mm', 'date_mm')"> However, that doesn't work like I'd hoped. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Jeff

dtml-tree question

Hi, I have a problem with dtml-tree. But I think that is just a problem I have, cause I don't completely understand the dtml-tree thing. I have the following dtml code snippet <dtml-tree skip_unauthorized=1 branches_expr="objectValues('Folder')" sort="order"> <dtml-if "'index_html' in objectIds()"> <a href="<dtml-var tree-item-url>" target="contentframe"><dtml-var title_or_id></a> <dtml-else> <dtml-var title_or_id> </dtml-if> </dtml-tree> Well, I traverse my folder structure to build a nice dtml-tree from it. So far the insertion of links, the if-clause of the dtml-if statement, works really, really fine. But I also want people to be able to click on the elements that are part of the tree, so that they don't need to click on the plus signs but can also click on the text next to the plus sign. This is the else-clause in the dtml-if statement. But everything I tried didn't work. Is is solveable? And how? Or do I have to build my own tree using a recursive call of a dtml-in loop? help me understand NDS

Hi everyone, I'm hoping that someone on the list has some experience with NetWare's NDS. The school district where I work is a NetWare shop with the exception of the Web server which is running Linux. A couple of my students and I do the Web stuff on the side. Starting in the fall, I'd like to begin using the PTK and authenticating users against our NDS directory. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me whether Novell's recent release of their eDirectory product for Linux will affect how we approach this. Are the existing LDAP Zope products sufficient? Zope and Pike

Now that a beta version of Pike has been released (see http://www.scripting.com/ and http://pikebeta.userland.com/) has anyone given any thought to a Pike compatible interface to Zope? It's a cool way to interact with a content-management system. Unfortunately it is only available for the Mac and Windows. dave

The Gestalt System project aims to develop a free, Open Source, object-oriented software framework which makes use of other free, Open Source software tools for the purposes of managing, analysing, and reporting on quantitative data in a manner which is suited to modern, networked computing environments in which processor, memory, and storage resources are abundant but time is scarce and requirements are forever changing. His paper was part of the procedings, anyway, and may be online somewhere under www.python.org. His e-mail address is bkc(a)murkworks.com.
