Z SQL Method Trace

Hi, When there are errors in a Z SQL Method, a normal Zope trace stack is printed along with error message from database. I wonder if there is a way to let the error trace also prints out the SQL statememt that was sent in. Without the statement, debugging is very tedious since most of the time the errors are variable binding issues. I'm running Zope 2.1.6 on Red Hat Linux against Oracle 8.0.5 using ZOracleDA. Zope now included with Linux-Mandrake

Hey everyone, I was playing around this afternoon installing the Mandrake 7.1 beta and discovered that they are including Zope with their distribution. There are RPMs for a stock and PCGI-enabled Zope included. Very cool. REQUEST.set in ZSQL Methods?

On Zope 2.1.6, Zodbcda (3.1.0b2 newest... I think), WinNT: I have some old ZSQL Methods which use the REQUEST object to store some variables. I seem to be getting a name error when I try these with the newer zodbcda... not with the sybaseda or the old Zope and old zodbcda. For example: ---     ........ --- I get a NameError when it does the REQUEST.set. Can you believe it!? Zope legacy code... :) I have lots of these ZSQL Methods, so I don't really want to change all the logic... but if there is a simple way to pass in the REQUEST object or fix the DA that would be nice. ADO Database Connections

Lack of support for Native database functionality in ZOPE is a major drawback and getting every DB vendor to code Python Drivers for ZOPE doesn't seem reasonable from a maintenance standpoint on both sides of the coin(developer/database manufacturer). Coding a DB connection manager to an "DB DRIVER standard"(I use the term loosely) would provide better long term support and flexibility. [snip] I'm not quite sure what Python's equiv to Perl's DBI is... and I dont believe its nearly as well supported, yet. I believe OpenLink and Digital Creations were going to be working out an agreement, or so was the posibility. I'm still waiting for this so I can update some internal folks. What is the status of the future DA development? MySQL and PostgreSQL are usually maintained actively by the community. How about Oracle, Sybase, Informix, DB/2, Unify? Is there going to be a public announcement? How would you go about getting support from both companies for a particular DA in ZOPE? I am thinking it would be harder (MUCH) to say to a client (or project manager), "welllll.. adapter's dont really exist, we have to buy support from two companies who then have to work together to create the most important piece of software for the project - because it doesnt exist yet (i.e. Unify Zope DA)..." this would make people feel _VERY_ uncomfortable. How does this work? Would someone goto DC for the DA to be created/supported? or to OpenLink? or would someone have to co-ordinate the two? what if I just want a Unify Zope DA? just go somewhere pay (how much $$$??) and get it in X days for Y amount of money for Z worth of support? what about FastCGI support from FastEngines? Is that existing as well? I've not heard too much from the 'uber-corporate' side of support in ZOPE. what is ZOPE's direction in these areas? ZEO is suppose to be announced *soon* ? (next few weeks?) and the types of corporations who use this software will have these problems, I imagine. many thanks, george runyan

I think that there's a good chance that you are not actually using Zope 2.1.6. Please double check that you're using 2.1.6, and let me know if it still doesn't work for you.
