Getting error assigning sequence-item to REQUEST

Can anyone tell me why the following <dtml-in "_.string.split(tune_name,'|')"> <dtml-if sequence-start> <dtml-call expr="REQUEST.set('tune_name',sequence-item)"> raises the error "Error Type: Name Error Error Value:sequence" It is the last line which raises the error. This is the error I would expect if I was trying to use a variable which wasn't in the current namespace so I am confused why I cannot use sequence-item in this way. Missing Z2.pid

When I run ./start to get zserver/pcgi up and running, I get an error telling me Zope-2.1.6-src/var/Z2.pid permission denied.....yet when I look in that directory, Z2.pid is not even there...hmm. Any ideas why it looks for a directory that doesn't exist? This is really the only thing holding the ./start program back, from what I can tell. I even tried making an empty Z2.pid file and even put permissions 777 on it (not a good idea I know, but just for the ./start)...and I still get the same "permission denied" error....hmm. (and I am running as root, using sudo). Here is error is detail: File "/home/jessi/Zope-2.1.6-src/z2.py", line 586, in ? IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/home/jessi/Zope-2.1.6-src/var/Z2.pid' Thanks in Advance, Jessica

DTML for getting content type of files in a folder?

Hi, I have some folders which have arbitrary number of files of varying content types. A DTML Method is supposed to list them, and give them custom icons based on content-type. I can use getContentType() directly on a file object, but I can't figure out how to use it on a sequence item. What is the proper way of doing this? Here is not-working code for what I'd like to do: <dtml-in "objectIds(['File'])"> <dtml-if "sequence-item.getContentType()=='text/css'"> <dtml-var css_icon> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> Any suggestions? zope service missing in W2K

I installed zope on a W2K box and told it to run as a service. It worked. But later I shut down my machine and when I restarted, Zope wasn't running. When I look in Control Panel->Services I don't see Zope listed. How can I get zope (re)installed as an NT service? --karl

Hi! I'm trying to make something work now for a some weeks. But I don't have a idea how I can get that OK. I've already written to this list, but after a review of my message I have to say some additional information: I want to realize something simmilar like "information hiding" in OO-programming context. example: Folder structure: Main |-a |-c |-b In folder c and b is a Method which return some content. In folder a and Main a Method collects with <dtml-in "PARENTS[0].objectValues(['Folder'])"> <dtml-with "_[_['sequence-item'].id]"> <dtml-var Method_in_c_b> </dtml-with> </dtml-in> the information from the subfolder. (That works well.) If I add a Method in Main which tries to collect the Information from its Folders in the same way as the Mathed in folder a some Errors arrive instead of the result I want. Has someone a hint? -Helmut

I mean, to run a website, at very least be prepared to have 64MB, it's about US$70 nowadays. Importing a zexp?

Hi all When I unzip KnowledgeKit-1.6.7.zexp and ZDP-Tools-0.1.zexp into the import/ directory under the zope directory, and I try to import them (from http://jean:8080/manage_importExportForm ), I get respectively "The object KnowledgeKit does not support this operation" and "The object DocumentFolderProduct does not support this operation" Anyone know what's wrong? IE 5.0 and Basic Auth

I have been fielding all kinds of complaints about erratic behaviour with Zope Basic Authentication and the common denominator seems to be IE 5.? I know nothing about windows, etc. Would someone be able to enlighten me as to why every version of netscape I've tried works properly, and IE 4.0 works properly, but IE 5.0 won't even allow me to manage a site?? TIA jb
