Aquisition problem with Cookies?

Hi! I recently played around with SQLSession backed by a mysql database. My setup was the following: mysite/ mysite/std_header_html DTML document mysite/std_footer_html DTML document mysite/index_html DTML document mysite/Session SQL Session mysite/folder/index_html DTML document The idea is to do all the session stuff in the sql_header_html, basically doing the <dtml-call Session>. Being in mysite/index_html everything works. The Session is created and when logging in via a form the actual userid is stored in the Session_Data. Now when jumping to mysite/folder/index_html it's not working anymore. I am again using a <dtml-var std_header_html> at the beginning which aquires the dtml document in the parent folder. The problem is now that a new session is created all the time although one should be still available when accessing mysite/folder/index_html (thus the cookie should still be available in the request). When moving the <dtml-call Session> into mysite/folder/index_html everything works. So why is this? To track it down a little more I checked which cookies are stored in REQUEST.cookies. I did this in std_header_html and mysite/folder/index_html: std_header_html: <dtml-in "REQUEST.cookies.keys()"> <dtml-var sequence-item> = <dtml-var "REQUEST.cookies[_['sequence-item']]"><br> </dtml-in> and the same in mysite/folder/index_html: <dtml-in "REQUEST.cookies.keys()"> <dtml-var sequence-item> = <dtml-var "REQUEST.cookies[_['sequence-item']]"><br> </dtml-in> <dtml-call Session> <dtml-var std_header_html> I would expect that both loops would produce the same output but it isn't. In the loop in mysite/folder/index_html the cookie is there and in the loop done by std_header_html it isn't. So this seems to be the reason why always a new session is created when only doing the session work in the std_header_html. Can someone explain this to me? ;-) (Actually putting the Session call into index_html is not the problem but for modularizing things I would like it more to be in a central place.) ZCatalog Key Error

Hi. I am using a ZCatlog as Search Engine and I use a TextIndex aof the attribute Author. ZCatalog Key Error

I keep getting a key error with ZCatalog. When I add objects to ZCatalog for the first time, say all dtml documents, and do a search everything works fine. As soon as I remove documents from the ZCatolog I get a key error when I repeat the same search. I noticed a patch that Michell Peletier posted on and applied that, but still no luck? Roché Compaan

George, A good example of recursion is in the ZCatalog.py file in any Zope distribution. There is a method named ZopeFindAndApply that uses recursion to walk the tree. maybe its really late and I'm tired... but I'm sitting here trying to walk the entiree tree from a dtml method and its just not working... I would rather do this from pythonmethods, and I've been reading the manage_exportObject method to see how it works, but its kinda hairy... ? how do you do recursion in ZOPE? I'm trying to essentially do what exporting the DOM in XML except w/ more control and preferably using pyMethods but I just dont get it... :( any help? a good idea may be to have a PythonMethod repository, it seems that I'm always struggling w/ the in's and out's of PythonMethods in the ZOPE env. and it would be nice for when pyMethods are released w/ ZOPE that there is a nice wealth of info for people to see examples of these beautiful and elegant creatures. many thanks, george

tree-tag & SQL - works not properly with zope 2.1.6

I use a recursive table to implement a hierarchical structure in SQL and the Zope tree tag to display it. This works perfect with Zope 2.0.1 recently I upgraded to 2.1.6. Since then it does not work correct. What did I do wrong and what can I do to correct the problem? thanks in advance phil Here the exact description of what I did: 1. How do I check for an object's existence in the ZOPE tree? I thought one of these would work: <dtml-if "REQUEST.resolve_url('http://domain/my/object')"> Yes <dtml-else> No </dtml-if> OR <dtml-if "my.object"> Yes <dtml-else> No </dtml-if> but they completely die rather than returning a false value. Is there an "exists" method of some kind? kh
