Hi, I'm going to (try!) to write a small book on Zope. I hear people complaining a lot about the documentation with Zope. I'm all ears to hear what persons expect from such a book. Right now, I'm generating the table of contents, thus it's a good time to include what people expect. After that I'll post this to the publisher. If the publisher agrees, then it's only waiting until the book is finished. Seeming DCORacle Bug

In the Zope Oracle interface, there seems to be a bug... A certain query always responds with this traceback: oci.error Sorry, a Zope error occurred. Oops, just as I am typing this message, after accessing another table in Sybase, the memory usage went up to 14 MB. So I think the Sybase queries are definitely the ones to blame. My SybaseDAv2 adapter has been REALLY SLOW, too, about 0.3 sec per query. So I think there is either some inefficiency or memory leak in SybaseDAv2. Arrghh... why would SybaseDAv2 take up the task of caching queries result? This does not make a lot of sense.... I've been trying to see what effects memory usage and the single biggest factor, beyond the amount and type of "stuff" in you ZODB, appears to be the 'target size' and 'maximum time between accesses' parameters on the Cache Parameters tab of the Control_Panel/Database page. The default of 400 objects and 60 secs between access does keep the memory consumption down, I don't recall off hand how low we where running but around 100M was about right. Recently I jumped these values up to 450,000 objects and 5 minutes between access, we currently have around 300,000 ojects total in the database. This change brought about quite a different memory usage pattern. Once load began to rise we saw one server reach 400+M memory usage before I restared the server w/ a reduced time between accesses value (that machine only has 512M). Printing, let's try this again

I have a site that users use to build quotes. Once they get them the way they like them they are going to need to print them. The browser print button is not a good solution for many reasons, we need a header and footer on pages, pagination etc. So the the question once again is: Is anyone printing from Zope. i.e. sending html to a html to pdf converter, or some other solution? Note: The ZPdfDocument doesnt convert the complete html page. Dan
