I was running 2.1.1 before, and got the "unpack sequence of wrong size" error. I thought, OK, I'll upgrade to 2.1.6. Surprise! It does not fix anything. :( The funny thing is that I can browse the table structures. (I have tables created in Access.) Just that I cannot "select" nor "create" tables. Has anyone been able to run ZODBC with Access2000 on 2.1.6? Or is ZODBC only good for 2.1.4? Does anyone know where I can get a Win32 binary copy of Zope 2.1.4? Ioan: are you using Access 2000? SybaseDAv2 speed slow?

Hi, My SybaseDAv2 connection seems awfully slow. Does anyone else have the same problem? A SQL request now takes about 0.3 seconds to complete... this is especially strange given that the Sybase database is on the same machine as Zope. I am using Linux. Is there any trick to speed up the database connection? I suspect the slow speed is due to poor tcp/ip connection... Using lists in DTML

Say I have two iterations like this: <ul> <dtml-in ..> <li>.. </dtml-in> <dtml-in ..> <li>.. </dtml-in> </ul> That use two different SQL queries, but return rows from the same table. Logically, to the user, these iterations render just one lists. How would I eliminate duplicates created by querying the same table? One thought is, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it, is to store a list of keys already displayed. Something like this (create a list named foo) <ul> <dtml-in ..> <li>.. (add id to list foo) </dtml-in> <dtml-in ..> (check to see if id is in list foo from last dtml-in) (if id is in list, skip) </dtml-in> </ul> Any ideas on what syntax I would use for that? -- Ken Kinder 303.381.7631

(OT?)Weirdness searching lists.zope.org/pipermail

Something strange I noticed today. Every search I do in Google that results in a lists.zope.org/pipermail listing... When I click on the link, I don't get the message that is referenced. If I click on Google's "Cached" link, I get the proper message. Example: Google search for "XML RPC Woes" returns 2 results: lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2000-February/018668.html lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2000-February/018669.html 018668 brings up a message on: [Zope] sqlsession and XML-RPC Woes is mentioned nowhere on the page (including the Previous or Next messages). 018669 brings up a message on: [Zope] RE: zope/style sheets (same absence of XML-RPC Woes). Clicking on the Google Cached pages gets me the proper (XML-RPC) messages. (Google's Cached pages saves the day again!) Does anyone know if this a Google problem or is it something related to the list (and/or Zope)? Have never seen it happen with Google before and have been using it since early Alpha days. using the tree-tag with local_fs

I'm trying to get a tree-view of the files in a Local File System object. The idea is to get a view similar to the MS Explorer view (or the Zope management interface ...) with the folder structure on the left and the folder contents shown in the main window. My first try to get a tree was: <dtml-tree local branches_expr="fileValues()"> <img src="<dtml-var icon>"><a href="<dtml-var "serverPath()">/<dtml-var url>"><dtml-var id></a> </dtml-tree> ... where "local" is the name of the Local FS. That does produce the first level "tree", but the tree won't expand correctly. At the moment the tree view also doesn't work in the management console. Is that part of the -- really brilliant -- Local FS still too buggy to use or does anyone have a working example for a nice tree view? Joachim.

Changing 'standard_html_header' has no effect

I am using Zope-2.1.6. I modified standard_html_header thinking that it will let me customize my website but it had no effect at all. I tried everything, stopping zope, getting out of netscape and then restarting. I feel very frustrated. Can some one help. Thanks, -- sudhir sudhir(a)earthling.net

DTML editors

Has anyone developed a parser file for color-coding DTML within Allaire HomeSite? HomeSite works pretty well as a DTML editor even without the color-coding, but a parser sure would be nice. Alternately, are there other editors (Win and Linux) that have similar features (ftp built in neatly, easy for a newbie to use) that can already automatically color-code DTML? (I did try ZopeEDIT, which opens up the possibilities, but the ftp access on HomeSite was much more smooth for my purposes.) Thanks, Larry Albert lda(a)rice.edu
