Storing the entire Zope db to a file

Some idiot in the server room unplugged my server in his infinite wisdom, and now it seems my Z SQL Method product is mysteriously broken. I need to re-install Zope but I don't want to loose all my valuable work. How can I dump to a file and recover, but have everything still work on a totally different instance of Zope. This needs to work with installed products like my Oracle db adapter. -- Ken Kinder 303.381.7631

Note that you can also replace everything following the colon in the access file with a plaintext password, thus changing the superuser password. What do you mean by references? AFAIK, ALL ZODB data is stored in data.fs. problem with mailfrom

I'm trying to create a mailform but I always have this error : Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: SMTP Error Error Value: Recieved error code 503 from SMTP: 503 No recipients have been specified. I don't understand what is the recipient. You'll want to use the zpasswd.py file included with Zope to change your access file: python zpasswd.py access :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: The fact that the password is encrypted makes the following info on the default Zope page pretty useless: "You will be prompted for the username and password you used when you ran the Zope install utility. If you have forgotten, it is stored in the access file in the Zope directory." I had assumed (without running it) that zpasswd.py would require me to enter the ORIGINAL password in order to change the password. Apparently this is incorrect. I'll give it a try. Going beyond Client.call

Zopistas, I'm seeking to improve the "How-To: Serve PHP/Perl from Zope". One component of that How-To uses Stafford's tip of using Client.call(). This function essentially provides a simple way to make web requests. The Client.Function class it is based upon, however, allows more complicated requests. In particular, it allows the method of the call to be specified. This is of interest for the How-To because if one wants to embed PHP or Perl within Zope one needs to be able to make "POST", for example. Has someone played around with Client.Function to do this or have any pointers to code that uses Client.Function in this way? Andres Corrada

Newbie: /Manage Password problems

Successfully installed Zope on a LinuxPPC Mac a couple of months ago and have been reading/studying to grasp concepts, but had not worked with it for a while. Found it had quit, so telnetted in and did a ./start . Serves the default page OK, so looks like I'm up and running. Attempting to visit the manage screen, I find that the originally assigned password is not accepted. (had not run zpasswd.py to change it yet). Looking at the access file, the password in the file looks nothing like the one I wrote down when I installed it. For one thing, the password that I wrote down is 8 characters long and the one in "access" is HUGE. My question is: What _part_ of that access file password string is actually the password that I should use to get back to the manage screen? I've tried any/all combinations that I can think of. Right now the file says: superuser:{SHA} followed by 14 characters, then a "/", then 12 more characters, and finally an "=" ??? Any enlightenment will be appreciated. Method to download a file

Hi All, My problem is to download a file from a FORM. When I click on Submit button I would like download a file via a dialog "save as". As my following code shows you, ids input is not used for the moment, later I will construct the filename to download with this ids. But for the moment I got an error :(. Is it the right way to do it, what is my error, etc .. I suspect something with RESPONSE but I can't find something in mailing-list or doc on that stuff. Help appreciated. FR. FSSession problems...

Greetings... I seem to be having problems with FSSession (ver 0-3-0). I am using the session cookie to hold username and company information. simple enough. Most of the time, there's no problem. When the user enters their login details, they hit submit and are sent to a verify page. Assuming all verification works, that page forwards them back to the page they were at. This is where the problem begins. That page sometimes doesn't recognise that the FSSession details have been set. I'm assuming this is some sort of thread syncing problem, since if i reload the page, no problems. Any ideas? -- Have a better one, Curtis. <dtml-var standard_work_disclaimer>
