DTML syntax' not OO?

DTML syntax' not OO? Coming from python trying to learn DTML is very awkward. It seems that there is a different way of doing everything and this has been very frustrating. Is there an underlying theme to the syntax I am not picking up on or was this not a concern for creating the language. The short hand for variables is an example, because it is so different from the long hand method. The python tags are a little better but the documentation on them is a little sketchy. Hello, I have a Problem with "Photo". When I will add one, I get the message: The _imaging C module is not installed I have installed an folder .../lib/Python/Pil ... It is not enough. But I don't know, where I found _imaging C and which file does it use. Please help me. 99.9% CPU usage (0.1% brain usage)

Hi there, For some reason Zope would suddenly hang and it's thread would consume 99.9% of CPU usage. The first time this happened the problem magically disappeared after a complete reinstall. Here's what happened while casually throwing bannerexchange code into the default DTML document. standard_html_footer </td> </tr> </table> <dtml-var bannerexchange> </body> </html> bannerexchange <dtml-var standard_html_header> <h2><dtml-var title_or_id></h2> <p>  </p> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> <---- Oops! I'm on Zope 2.1.6, do future version prevent me from making accidental infinite loops like this? Kevin Smith BTW: I get exponentially more done with Zope every day. Thanks for Zope.

I cannot reproduce on any of a fair number of NT boxes available to me, which leads me to believe that either: 1 the problem is a difference in our Zope installations (i.e. installed products) or 2 we each have a different set of gremlins active in our NT installations (1) should be fairly simple to diagnose. If you install a fresh, clean b2 on your NT box and start it with the *default* database and _no_ third party products installed, do you get these odd crashes? If not, then the next step is to determine which product is activating the problem. Virtual hosting on Linux: what's needed in BIND?

Hi, I am not really a Linux person, so I apologize if I show my ignorance here. :) For Zope/SiteAccess to work with virtual hosting, something needs to be done at the Linux BIND level. But I would like to know what exactly. Is it as simple as adding a whole bunch of cname lines into the database file? Also, is it possible to use wildcards in the database file for BIND? I mean, if you have many virtual sites, would it be possible (and wise?) to make it so all requests like *.mysite.com point to the Zope server? Or each virtual site's name must be explicitly entered into the BIND's database file? No management interface on port 80

I had my zope site up and running smoothly in test environment, without a glitch on port 8080 for about 2 weeks. I am using ZServer directly. Now I decided to make it live, on the default port 80. I installed Zope as root, with the command: zope_dir/install -u nobody Then I modified the start script and added -w 80 after z2.py and took out the -D flag. The problem I am facing now is that whenever I click to go to the management screen, I do not get any response back from the server. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciately. Thank you, -- sudhir
