problems connections to database

Hi, I get a strange error here. Suddenly the connection to my interbase db doens't works anymore. Dunno if Catalog can do it either .. not even if I do include the fulltext in the MetaData Table. 'Cause the hit will have come from the indexed text, so it has no way of knowing *which* hit in the original fulltext it was .. right? -- jean

Squishdot upgrade HELP- screwy max posts behaviour

I upgraded my 3.x version of Squishdot to 4.1 I followed all the instructions, but when I got to the part where you "push this button once" after the upgrade to 4, I got an error (so of cource I pushed it many times and now get the message that: Error Type: Index Exists Error Value: The index specified already exists). I hate to say it but I did not right the original error down. Maybe it was the same I was I get now...I don't know. Anyway, now I am having problems. I have not had a single post to the page (it seems like since my upgrade...but cannot be sure). I have added test articles with no problem but nothing new by others. Here is a hard fact illustrating part of my current problem: When I set the options to show 25 maximum posts on main page I get 8 displayed. When I set it to show 50, I get 16. WHAT IS GOING ON? About Squishdot and permissions

hi Zopers, In case this is very obvious (I'm RTFM'ing meantime) .. while hacking Squishdot's DTML, I did something to make 'leftbox_items' inaccessible to 'Anonymous': Unauthorized You are not authorized to access leftbox_items. in / , Anonymous has these permissions: Access contents information Add Comments Add Newss Add Postings Add ZWiki Pages Change ZWiki Pages Search ZCatalog Use Database Methods View any clue what's up? -- jean (running Zope 2.1.6 and Squishdot-0-4-1)

manage_upload not found?

I can call manage_addFile to add a new file to the ZODB. If I try and add a file with the same id as an existing object, I get an error from manage_addFile. Fair enough. I looked at the source of the management interface and say manage_upload used to change the contents of an existing object. However, when I try and use this Zope is saying it cannot find it. I'm afraid that this will be a little newie question. How is the call to user_Authenticate used. Is it throgh a dtml-call or a dtml-var or dtml-in ? How am I supposed to pass the variables through to the function. How do I "collect" the return value? /Mathias

Hi all I've got a lot of Word docs and Powerpoint presentations and PDFs etc in the ZOBD, stored with their full text in a property of the containing object, so that all those binary docs are searchable. This works great, but returns only the found objects and the cached properties specified in the MetaDate Table. Wouldn't it be great to be able to give just a line or two of context from the full text, the way Google does? I have a feeling I'm asking for pie in the sky, but if anyone has a brilliant (or a functional) solution I'd be delighted. cheers, -- jean
