How can you get Zope console messages running as NT service?

This must be in the archives someplace, but searching didn't turn it up. I'm running ZServer as an NT service, and I'd like to be able to see the usual console debug messages that I would get if I were running it from a command window, but I don't know how. I tried setting the -D flag in the service startup parameters, but if that works, I don't know where the output is going. If anyone knows how to do this, or that it is impossible, I'd like to know too. Upload on a local File System

Hi, I d like to upload on a Local File System. I would like to use a form, choose a file and i d like that Zope upload the file on the LocalFS. I ve met some troubles, could you help me?

I know that zope runs on everything else, but how do we reconcile the DC/Sybase partnership announced late last year "Sybase is committed to delivering best of breed products supporting open platform development. We are pleased to partner with Digital Creations, and by supporting the Zope application server with Adaptive Server Enterprise, we deliver an enterprise-class database solution for customers using Open Source technology," said David Jacobson, director of product marketing for Sybase Enterprise Solutions Division." My question is this: I have a Zope Product. I want that some modules from this product be configurable. I can use exec() but then I have a big security hole. I am not a ZOBD expert, but I belive thet it doesn't save methods, only variables. Exits somo trick thet permits me: import aPythonMethod or x=PythonMethod.call(....) or something Is that posible? Python Class trickyness

Good evening. I know how to make a Python Class, which is a container. But how do I make another Class which can only be added from the container-class I have created. Know what I mean? The last class should only show up in the "Available Objects"-list if the user is in a instance of the first class. Did this make any sense? Thanks for any answers. :-)

ZODB problems...

Hi all, I am trying to load a Python class as an extension which again accesses data stored under ZODB. The Python classes are stored in a directory under "Products" and I manage to create a sub ZClass in Zope for it. I have a method on one of these classes which I call from a DTML document... the method opens the ZODB and the first lines connects to the database successfully ...................................................... self.__storage=FileStorage.FileStorage('/MyData.fs') self.__db= DB(self.__storage) self.__conn=self.__db.open() ...................................................... , I print some debug information to stdandard out, so I know that my data are read ok; the function eventually produces an XML document which is run through a stylsheet producing an HTML string which I am trying to return to Zope for viewing in the browser.... but.. on return I get the following error which I think is connected to ZODB and transaction management. manage_upload -> SQL-db with pictures possible?

Hi I'm trying to get pictures uploaded to a SQL database. I've been trying all sorts of combinations with manage_upload to dummy objects and then dumping that obj to the (SQL-) db with no success. Or rather I cant succeed in actually storing the picture in the db, whatever it is I'm storing, can't be viewed as jpegs... Can it be done and if so how? Before anybody screems, yes I know it's concidered bad habit to store pictures in the DB, but hey - it's only thumbnails and I need to access them from other programs, so I think it's a valid thing to do in this case ;) /Jacob Lundqvist

First, thanks to Dieter :) Well, I have written a simple test products, which I have attached to this message as a .tgz file. This product does vert little things. When B1 is pressed, two new threads will start, one will update column of the database table, while the other will prompt the current time. When B2 is pressed, all threads will terminate. When B3 is pressed, it will show the database table. For this product, I used the SybaseDAv2 to connect to the local Sybase 11.9.2. The problem is, I can always see the results by pressing B3. However, when I looked into the database using isql, nothing has ever changed :( What's wrong? I really have no clue. Please kindly help. Regards, Nicholas Lo
