Why do Copy/Paste attempts fail?

I'm using Zope 2.2.1 on NT. I've imported an exported binary file into a freshly created Zope server [whose objects somehow show up under some Zope folder]. I want to remove the entire object structure one level up, because all the paths contained in those objects are no longer valid. Therefore I perform several copy/paste and cut/paste operations on the several DTML methods etc. in the Zope sub folder. However, they all fail with the same error message, both as super user and manager: One or more items referred to in the clipboard data was not found. The item may have been moved or deleted after you copied it. What is going on here? There is a 'realm' class attribute which provides the default realm - you could either somehow change this as needed (which may be sort of hard, especially since unauthorized usually gets raised before user code ever gets run), or change the default class attribute. You could change the default class attribute by either: - hacking the code (bleah) - or maybe better, create a "product" in your lib/python/Products (say RealmHack). The product dir would only have an __init__.py file that looked like: import ZPublisher.HTTPResponse ZPublisher.HTTPResponse.HTTPResponse.realm='whatever' ...which would allow you change the default class attr without hacking the code itself. When your product gets imported (at startup time), your realm would be used. Note that wouldn't help with "per folder" realm changing. I'm open to suggestions on that. One way I suppose would be to subclass Folder and implement an extended version of __bobo_traverse__ that changed the realm upon traversal. Yeap yeap, this is exactly the problem. :) I have written a small Python program and got rid of the CR characters. The problem must have happened when the original author FTP'ed the files in binary mode from Windows onto a Unix machine. Thanks to everyone that have helped! ZDOM and Zope release version number

Hi all, two questions : I have read the ZDOM documentation on Zope.org but it is unclear if it is already implemented or if it is still a project. I could not use it on my Free Zope account by NIP. So I was wondering if NIP was running a previous release which does not support ZDOM. Then the related question, how can I check Zope release version number form the management interface? Thanks. Backslash as line continuation in C (Unix)

Hi, This is a Unix C question. But since I am doing something that ultimately results in a Zope product, I might as well ask the question here. :) I am trying to build a third-party utility in Linux. I ran into troubles in the compilation process because of the usage of backslash \ as line continuation. (This is used in #def preprocessor macro statements.) When I remove the backslashes and join the lines, it compiles fine. (I know backslashes are fine in Windows Visual C++.) Does anyone know any other better solution than go into the code and explicitly remove the backslashes? Is there any gcc option that recognizes backslashes are line-joining characters? Or is there another character used in gcc for joining lines?
