where is the ID?

hello, i have another problem. the ZClass i have created, which is based upon the DTMLDocument base class, is having a strange problem and i'm clueless about where to look to fix it. when i try to reference the ID through DTML i get this: <a href="http://komputer:8080/Efolder/<string>"> here's the DTML that generated this: <a href="<dtml-var URL1>/<dtml-var id>"> was there something i overlooked while creating the ZClass? i appreciate any responses. -<mike>-

This behavior is targeted directly at DTML's original purpose, which was to generate HTML reports against the objects published by Bobo/Zope; the interoduction of more powerful programming constructs (the let tag, expression syntax) have not always jived well with the more ancient core of DTML. Brad, I think I can provide some information. I have added a jpg to an interbase table and have successfuly displayed it in ZOPE. First off you may know that Interbase does not store BLOB data directly in a table's blob column. It stores the data elsewhere and then stores a "pointer" to it in the table column. This means that BLOB data MUST be inserted via program code and thus you cannot do the following in a Zope SQL Method: insert into the_table (blob_column) values (blob_data) If you are using the gvibDA you can code an external method to do this: import gvib cn = gvib.connect(...) cr = cn.cursor() cr.execute('insert into the_table (blob_column values (?)', (blob_data,)) cn.commit() cr.close() cn.close() What I did to display the JPG may or may not be legal but here is what I did. Code an external method (saveimage) to save the jpg to a temporary file. My codewas: def saveimage(ifile, idata): fout = open(ifile, 'wb') fout.write(idata) fout.close() Then I coded an SQL Method to select the blob column. SQL errors

Using ZODBC Database Adapter to connect to an MSSQL and I can call the sql method in dtml eg: <dtml-try> <dtml-call "SQL_add_user(REQUEST)"> <dtml-except sql.error> Error! </dtml-try> But does anyone know a way of trapping the specific error eg: database down, key violation etc...? Or do I have to hack ZODBC to return different errors? -- Andy McKay, Developer. ActiveState.

IEMethod and Owner permissions

Hello I'm using the IEMethod product installed on Zope 2.1.6 In a folder object's security tab, I have set Owner to be allowed to change IEMethod, but an ACL User in that folder (being Owner) can't. When logged in as this Owner user, I can't change (File) my changes in the IEMethod. Any similar security setting for DTML Documents or DTML Methods works with this logic. Ideas? Solutions?

Getting properties of objects

I am trying to build a property seach engine that will search an entire Zope site for a names property (i.e. color) and it would return a list of all objects with that property and it's corresponding value. Addtionally, as an option, I would like to display all properties of all objects (i.e. pass in a wild card instead of a name and you get all properties in the site). I started on the wild card requirement first: I have been able to get all the properties of the root level folders, but not the the DTML Documents in the root level. Additionally, I haven't been able to recurse into the sub folders. Any thoughts???? How to change Unauthorized error message?

Hi all, I want to give out another error message (not the standard error message) when logging was without success. Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Unauthorized You are not authorized to access this resource. No Authorization header found.
