We are currently located on the main campus of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (Heidelberg, Germany) until late January 2001, when we, along with the new Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, will move to Dresden as founding members of Germany's newest biotechnology centre, Biopolis-Dresden. Currently we are in the process of developing a Zope-based laboratory management system on a mixed Linux (server) and MAC (clients) platform. A Sybase relational database system serves as the main storage location for the lab system, running on a multiprocessor Linux-RAID server. The software engineer will be involved in the entire task of designing, planning, and implementing database tables, html user interfaces including the logic behind it, as well as the data aquisition through our lab specific hardware. He/she must be an experienced Python / HTML developer with strong background in programming the Zope web application server. Familiarity with SQL and database management as well as Linux/Unix OS is required, perferrably also with MAC OS. Adding user to folder

I would like to add a user to a folder that is being created via a form processing method with <dtml-call "manage_addFolder(folderName,folderName,'createAUserFolder','createAPublicIn terface')"> Now, since this folder does not exist yet except in the context of the script. How can I put a user in that above folder during execution? Is this where the _.namespace can be used to access what is in Zope's compiler stack during execution? Or, am I just way off and it is much less complicated than I think? TIA Scott

copy users

Hi all, I have a folder containing subfolders for different departments. At the time this application was build it was thought wise to divide user objects also over different folders. So each subfolder has its own acl_users folder (using basic authentication). Now people start moving. Furthermore some people belong to several departments. On second thought (this was my first encounter with Zope), therefore, I would like to have all user objects in one folder. The management interface offers no option to cut and paste user objects. Is there a work around for this problem or do I have to live forever with separate user folders? I am using zope 2.1.6. tia, cb

Using GUF (generic user folder) under 2.2.x?

Add ZClass with other than Manager

Hi Zope Users and Developers If created a ZClass with I want to Add also with an other user than Manager. Let's say Owner. I tried a lot ... I gave (for testing reasons) Owner the same rights as Manager (in this special folder). I set the Foo_addForm und Foo_add methods to proxy Manager. I there the posibility to Add an ZClass without writing an new Add_formular like in http://www.zope.org/Members/mukhsein/job_board_howto ? Thank verry much Hendrik Naumnn

This is an old thread, but I was cleaning up my mail today, and had to reply to this thread. =) | Zope.org is free as hell. Why don't you get creative and donate | something to the effort and stop bitching. zope.org is there to serve the community. The community has value for DC, it produces technical solutions, bug reports, and are an all around Good Thing (tm) for DC. Which they should gladly pay for and maintain. | If you need to make pictures with words it means that you don't have a | grasp on basic reality and attempt to shuttle form into desire. It's | childish - sooooooooooo childish. Now you're ignorant. If Erik hadn't complained, this could have gone on, potentionally discouraging users from showing it off, or, even worse, giving ZOPE a reputation for being slow and/or unstable. Think about it; if the zope.org site is running ZOPE, and if the site is slow/unstable, even if it is because of network connections, it's the ZOPE that's gonna get the bad wrap. -Morten
