Using FTP to connect to Zope server from (g)VIM

Hi all, My intellect was piqued recently by a discussion on the list about editors for Zope etc. I remember some people saynig that VIM was good, to which my response was, 'Yeah but there's no FTP built in'. Someone then responded with a few scripts to do it. Well I thought they were a bit cumbersome, so I wrote my own. ftpopen.py and ftpsave.py. If you have a VIM executable with Python support built in then these run from within VIM and allow you to open/save file from/to Zope seamlessly. (I have them on a menu in GVIM for instance) I'll put the files up on my Zope Members bit (http://www.zope.org/Members/philh) along with a few instructions. If anybody can think of any enhancements then please let me know and I'll see if I can work them in. I hope these will be useful to someone. See ya Phil phil.harris(a)zope.co.uk

Wow. That's good to know. I just created some fairly ugly code to get around the lack of something like a dtml-break. I just tried searching for it on zope.org, on the mailing lists, and using google for good measure. Didn't find any mention of it anywhere. If anybody does come up with a link I'd love to see it. I wonder why there's nothing like that natively..? //glw

Silly send mail problem

Hi all, I had a sendmail problem, whenever I send out a mail from zope, it always contain an empty "To" ,"From" and "Subject", but I was able to get the body of the mail, anyone got this problem before ?? I'm using Zope 2.1.6 on NT and the mail server is from Lotus, and the form processor syntax as below : <dtml-sendmail smtphost="mail.xyz.com" mailto="wai(a)xyz.com" mailfrom="wai(a)xyz.com" Subject="Testing from my machine"> mail body </dtml-sendmail> Thanks. It will not work in DTML, but in an external Python Method: you take your DTML string (stored in the database) and create a document template object from it. You then render (call) this object. For how, you do all that, you should look at the "DocumentTemplate" package in your Zope distribution. Most relevant "DT_String.py" and "DT_HTML.py". Dieter

Upgrade woes and product import problems

I'm trying to upgrade to 2.3.0b1 from 2.2.5b1... I installed the new version (according to the ZopeInstall HowTo, just to be safe), which started fine. I then shutdown Zope (2.3.0b1), moved the default var/Data.fs* files to a backup directory, then copied my old Data.fs* files over. When I tried to re-start 2.3.0b1, nothing happened. No debug message either. So I put the default Data.fs* files back in and restarted successfully. Fine, I thought, the database files aren't all that necessary. All the work I'd done on the previous version had been exported to a .zexp product export file, which were all subclassed from your run-of-the-mill ZClasses (image, file, folder, object manager, ZCatalog aware) and used DTML for all methods. No PythonMethods, no FSSessions, etc. So I put the .zexp file into the "import" folder and tried to import the product from within Zope. performance problem

hello, could anybody help? Have a perforemance prob. The DB (Data.fs) size is 25 MB. If using ZOPE "normal" the process will be around 35 MB. Ok. Have sopme pdf documents in the presentation. I reduced the DB size with the LocalFS Product. After a search-engine scan over my site the process grows up to 100 MB and more.... The server slows down. ...and there will be some doc's more in future. My question: is there a way to keep the process-size a little smaller? Thanks, Torsten.

I am not sure, I understand you: You assiciate arbitrary keywords with any object (in this way, the keywords are not predetermined). ZPyGresQL Connection Add Error

I am trying to get ZPyGreSQLDA-0.3 working with Zope 2.3.0b2 The Product installs fine, but when I try to add a connection, I get this error: Error Type: IOError Error Value: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/usr/lib/zope/lib/python/Shared/DC/ZRDB/connectionAdd.dtml' I checked and this connectionAdd.dtml file is actually located here: /usr/lib/zope/lib/python/Shared/DC/ZRDB/dtml/connectionAdd.dtml Unfortunately, I do not no how to fix this.
