Structured Text buggy in Zope 2.4.1

Hi, I'm new to Zope and to Python. I have installed Zope 2.4.1 and Python 2.1.1 recently. And I think that Structured Text in Zope works incorrectly now. While going through Tutorial I was a bit annoyed by strings like standard_html_footer rendered in HTML as "standard<u>html</u>footer", but then I figured out that this is not the only place where this happens. In particular I claim that lib/python/StructuredText/DocumentClass.py is wrong. At least it's behaviour doesn't correspond to the Structured Text description in the begining of lib/python/StructureText/ClassicStructuredText.py I think regular expressions in DocumentClass.py for figuring out the underlined, strong, emphasized and so on portions of a structured text are mistakenly oversimplified and I managed to instead use those from ClassicStructuredText.py which seem to be very carefully crafted. I will email my fixed version of DocumentClass.py (i'm a Python newbie!) to anyone interested. -- Ivan

Usersession - how to get one sessionid per open browser?

Hi all, When I open a different browser from a link in one of my pages (<a href="newPage" target="_blank" . . .) I get the same session Id for the new browser window. I would like to treat each open browser as a different session - how do I do this? Surely if I invalidate the session manually on opening the new browser, I will detroy the session data for the other browser (which I don't want to do). Thanks Etienne

Hi Bryan, Please keep the mail on the maillist, thanks. This is a limitation when using prebuilt forms from the properties interface. The prebuilt propertysheet editing forms don't call reindex_object. You need to create a custom properties-editing form with a target that calls reindex_object as well as modifying the properties. You could make the target a Python Script or a DTML method, as long as it calls the right stuff (manage_changeProperties and reindex_object) on itself with the right values. MailHost Question (multiple To addresses) from Python Script

Does anyone know how use the MailHost object to send copies of the same message to multiple users from a python script? Using a semi-colon to separate users (e.g., "user1(a)host.com; user2(a)host.com") doesn't work, at least when using MS Exchange. Any hints would be appreciated. Best wishes everyone, Ron

I recently asked how to call a ZSQL method in a folder higher up the hierarchy. I can do it if I manually get the parent. This can't be right can it? ### parent = context.REQUEST.PARENTS[0] results = parent.test_sql() t = '' for n in results: t = t + n.project_name + '\n' return t ### Surely, there's a way to do it using acquisition so that it would recursively look higher up the folder structure to find the ZSQL method? Please, No. what i want, is a quick, concise reference. examples clutter essentials. Material w examples is better left to tutorials.. However, i would like to have indications about which feature works with which zope+python version. also, i would welcome a table of contents with url#section... im glad the Zope Book exits.

Sequence Help

All: I'm using sequence-even to make 2 different background colors. However based on my sort, when I look at the page some of the background colors are grouped together. Can this be fixed or is the something other then sequence to be used here? Thanks, Todd

ZBabel - does it require an external database ?

Is this required or is it just if you are using a database to store your object datas in ..? HTML validation failure with DTML-renders -- ends tag with />

I tried validating Zope's HTML for the first time and I have come across something strange... Zope inserts '/>' as the close, instead of just '>' for the automatic '<img src...' created when calling an image with DTML. Here is my code just to make sure I am not doing something stupid. bullet is a .gif. <dtml-var bullet> renders... <img src="zope/bullet" alt="" height="14" width="13" border="0" /> It also seems to do this for SiteRoot's insertion into the header. <base href="http://www.myzope.com/folder/folder/" /> -Trevor
